“Everything prior to arriving went without a hitch or glitch. We were a party of 10 including 3 young children from 18 months to 6 1/2 years and a stairgate was extremely important to us. The stairgate at the premises was unusable but Norfolk Hideaways responded brilliantly with their maintenance team and had the issue resolved half-way through our first full day in residence. The accomodation was excellent although why people use cheap, soft matresses is beyond me. There was not a "house pack" that provided information on all the equipment and machinery in a house of that size whichi meant we had to find out about all the details of recycling in the area - which was considerable for a party of 10. All in all it was a great stay and everyone enjoyed themselves and the warmth and feel of this house in a superb location. We are already talking about next year !”

“The booking process worked very well and information provided to get to the cottage was excellent. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. We were a party of 9 with 3 children and appreciated the safety of a garden. There was a problem with TV reception when we arrived but Norfolk Hideways were quick to deal with this and have an excellent backup support team. This is a lovely area and Brancaster Beach is one of the best beaches we have been on. Would recommend the Jolly sailor in Brancaster Staithe for child friendly meals. ”

Local Area

Brancaster is known for its simply stunning beach.  It stretches for miles backed by gentle sand dunes and the famous links golf course of The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club.  Seals bask on the creek edges and children can safely paddle in the tidal lagoons.  The tide goes out a long way revealing the shipwreck of the S S Vina (beware of strong tides and do not venture out!) The sand is perfect for sandcastles and picnics. Kite surfers provide exciting entertainment on windy days. Parking is a few yards from the beach and anyone who walks that little bit further will be rewarded with their own private stretch of sand! The Ship public house has recently been reopened under Chris Couborough The Flying Kiwi Chef to great reviews. Traditional icecream and lollies can be had from the booth on the beach! Wildlife along the coast is abundant and accessible, Marsh Harriers wheel overhead along with Avocets, Oyster Catchers and Terns. A trip would not be complete without tasting the famous mussels, in season when there is an 'R' in the month.
