Humphrey Cottage is a charming cottage forming part of the popular Bircham Windmill complex. It offers comfortable accommodation for four people in a beautiful quiet rural spot. Standing in the heart of Norfolk's undulating fields, Bircham Windmill now looks as it did over 100 years ago. At that time over 300 mills ground corn for horse and cattle feed and bread-making in Norfolk. Today, very few windmills are left, and Bircham Mill is considered one of the best still remaining: it is the only windmill in working order in the area open to the public. Visitors can climb the five floors up to the fan stage and, when possible, on windy days, visitors can also see the sails and the milling machinery turning. There are also many items of interest to see in the tearooms, bakery and grounds.

Accommodation

Ground floor

Sitting / Dining Room: Front door leads into the sitting room. There is a colour television and video, a radio/CD/ tape player and comfy chairs. The dining area has a dining table and chairs and a high chair is available. The living room has another door out into the south facing garden, so why not breakfast outside on one of the picnic tables.

Kitchen: The kitchen is next to the dining area and is fitted with dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle, toaster and electric cooker (ceramic hob).
A full compliment of cutlery and crockery is provided, and even a bread making machine for the more adventurous. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper are provided and in the fridge you will find a pint of milk and a bottle of chilled wine.

Landing

Master Bedroom Leading to Second Bedroom: Upstairs are two bedrooms, the main one has a double bed, wardrobe & bedside tables with double aspect windows overlooking both the front of the property and garden. Leading off is the second bedroom which is fitted with full size bunks a dressing table with drawers and a chair, the window overlooks the front of the property. A cot is available if required.

Family Bathroom: The bathroom is upstairs and is fitted with a Mira power shower, bath,

basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Bed linen and Towels are provided.

Oil Fired Central Heating

Outside: As part of the Bircham Windmill complex there is ample parking. The Cottage is set at the edge of the complex so other visitors will not be intrusive if guests are inside the house. The rear of the property has access to the windmill garden and picnic tables. In the evening when the complex is closed the setting is extremely peaceful and tranquil.
