“An amazing property with all you could need for a lovely relaxing break. Cannot fault anything and would highly recommend it. ”

“Another great Norfolk Hideaway! We really enjoyed our (too short) stay at The Chapel in Thornham - the property was lovely, we had everything we needed and the owner was friendly and helpful. And it was a great base for exploring the wonderful North Norfolk coast. Thanks”

“After a 2 hour drive, in the dark and rain on November 5th, The Chapel was a welcome site!..the lights were on and it looked amazing! The accomodation was of a very high standard, with a beautiful kitchen (with welcome gift of wine and fresh bread)and a very cosy living area with 2 sofas and 2 chairs. The beds were very comfortable, with lovely crisp white bed linen. It was all very new and clean, with every detail thought of. There are three great pubs in the village, one of which did takeaway food for us. We did quite a long circular walk, which included walking along the beach,...the scenery was beautiful, and the sun shone too! What a great weekend!, would definately like to return. Many thanks”

“We stayed at The Chapel for a long weekend during the Easter holidays and had a wonderful time. We found The Chapel to be very comfortable, clean and child friendly. We loved the decor and would recommend this property to our friends and family. (However to make this property 'perfect' would be a garden especially in the summer...otherwise you may spend too much time in the pub across the road!!)”
Lisa Gordon from Cambridgeshire, April 2010
“I stayed at The Chapel with five close friends and it was absolutely brilliant! The house is ideally located for trips to surrounding towns and has two amazing restaurants within a short walking distance (one is a stone's throw away). The rooms are perfectly appointed and comfortable and the showers are to die for! The lovely owners have thought of everything as well - from a fully stocked kitchen for cooking (with a sweet welcome gift of fresh bread and wine!)to a great selection of books and maps on the area. We hope to come back many, many times!”

Local Area

Thornham is an old smuggling village right on the North Norfolk Coast.  Wide expanses of salt marsh separate the village from the sea and it is a paradise for walkers and bird watchers.  There are several great places to eat including The Village Deli, selling all manner of local produce and great coffee, The Lifeboat Inn, an old smuggling haunt complete with heavy beams and roaring fires, The Orange Tree a gastro pub and The Coach House selling pizza and pasta. The beach, reached by a walk over the sea defence over the salt marshes, is stunning and you will be rewarded by peace and quiet!
