Local Area

Bircham sits on the very edge of the Sandringham and Houghton Hall Estates, and many of its pretty, traditional Norfolk cottages are still owned by the British Royal family.

The village is very centrally situated for many of North Norfolk\'s excellent birdwatching and walking areas. The famous wide open beaches of Brancaster and Holkham are only ten minutes away. Nearby is the facinating working Bircham Windmill which you can climb to the top of for a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside.  They also sell probably the best scones in Norfolk!

The village also has a dog-friendly pub,The Kings Head, featuring a well-regarded restaurant and friendly bar.

There is a really good general store/deli serving a selection of home-cooked meals and local produce including meat reared at Houghton Hall - just the thing for your Norfolk self-catering holiday.
