“We loved staying in this cottage as it was in a great location for day trips and walks onto the creek. The cottage is quite small (washing up was difficult) but very charming. It was well stocked with films to watch, games to play and books to read. The garden was fab and luckily for us we had it to ourselves (no sharing). We often spotted rabbits, chickens and loads of swallows. ”

“We had a wonderful time last week at Postmill Cottage and really loved the cottage.”
Mrs A Power from Suffolk, October 2011
“Post Mill Cottage was the right blend of simplicity and comfort. It was well equipped, warm with wonderful ,comfortable beds and beautiful linen. To put my head out of the window and hear the wind across the saltmarsh and the sea beyond was magic. We could only bear to leave knowing that we might come back some day soon.”
Anthea Power from Ipswich, October 2011

Local Area

Burnham Overy Staithe is home to Overy Staithe Sailing Club.  There is a comprehensive chandlery on the quayside.  The creek is spectacular in all weathers and the walk along the sea bank to the beach is very special.  Overy beach is deserted and wildlife is abundant.  Miles of sand backed by high sand dunes make it a desolate but incredible place. In season terns nest here on the beach and are protected by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.  The Hero pub and restaurant is a couple of minutes walk from the quayside and provides hearty and wholesome food.  The Norfolk Coast path runs through Overy Staithe.  The black windmill is a true North Norfolk landmark and dominates the skyline for miles.  This is owned by the National Trust.
