Property details

Tucked away in a quiet loke, just off Blakeney High Street, Hollyhock Cottage is a super little brick and flint cottage. A perfect coastal retreat for a small family, couple or friends to enjoy at any time of year.

Packed full of character and charm, with wooden floors and beamed ceilings throughout, this mid terrace cottage is very welcoming, cosy and comfortably furnished and suitable for a maximum of three adults. Downstairs there is a good-sized sitting room, with a large wood burning stove to keep you warm in cooler months. The wood burning stove also heats the radiators, however there are electric radiators available when you don't wish to light the stove.

Blakeney is an all year round holiday destination, popular with walkers, bird watchers and sailors. Families with young children can enjoy a spot of crabbing from the quay, take a boat trip out to Blakeney Point to see the seals and explore the coastal path, marshes and nature reserves close by. If you want to leave the car behind for the day, just take the Coasthopper bus which regularly passes through the village - it will take you to all the coastal villages from Hunstanton to Cromer.

Surrounding local area

Blakeney is one of the jewels of the North Norfolk coast and a mecca for sailors, birders, artists and walkers. The picturesque harbour is always bustling with children (and adults!) gillying for crabs.
Take a walk along the sea defence wall over the salt marsh and you will be rewarded with simply stunning views.
The village is a maze of winding cobbled streets and tiny flint-faced fishermen's cottages and there are some great places to eat and enjoy the local sea food too.
Although not directly accessible from Blakeney village; Blakeney Point is the focal point for the Blakeney National Nature Reserve, an impressive four mile long stretch of coastline encompassing a fantastic spectrum of wildlife, including seals and varying landscapes, a sand and shingle spit, salt marshes, sand dunes and a range of plant life.
Take a walk through the National Trust's Friary Hills, to the east of the village, and take a picnic, or wander through the woods and go to The Wiveton Cafe - a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal under the stars - make sure you book first though as it is always popular.
Try the Wiveton Bell for supper and of course there are some wonderful restaurants and pubs in Blakeney itself!
Head to Morston Hall owned by celebrity Chef, Galton Blackiston for a very special meal to remember.
Visit Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall which are both a short drive away, as is Holt the pretty market town, a few miles inland where you can enjoy shopping at all the independent shops.
Don’t forget to treat yourself at Byford’s one of the best places to have coffee and cake. Or if you want to eat cake closer to home, then head to the local Blakeney deli where you can purchase all number of delights, dine out at the refined and prestigious Blakeney Hotel or enjoy more casual dining at the popular White Horse. With galleries, shops and a fresh fishmonger's, Blakeney is a very special place and in an easy walk of Cley-next-the-Sea.
Head to Holkham if you want to walk on one of the best beaches in the UK and take time to see the hall, parkland and museum.

We thought the cottage was comfortable and quirky and the patio area was lovely. In a good location as central to a lot of places to visit and good for walking.

A well situated cottage in a quiet loke. Very cosy, particularly with the wood burner lit. Ideal for two.

Beautiful cosy cottage in a perfect location. We had a fantastic stay in Hollyhock Cottage. The place had a lovely feel to it and it was superbly equipped with everything you could need for a week away. There were games for the children so we would often take the games to the pub a little bit down the road and have an evening drink while the kids played their games!
It was lovely and clean too. Will definitely be booking again.

A lovely “proper” cottage. Loved it! We loved it. We’ve stayed in a few cottages around Norfolk and this was perfect re: location. Pubs, restaurants, beautiful walks etc all a stones' throw away. The cottage itself was a really pretty “proper” cottage, everything we needed (including the all important speedy WiFi for the teenager!) and the real fire was a bonus. We took our dog and whilst there is no enclosed garden this wasn’t an issue as we just stuck our wellies and and took a quick walk down to the quay side.
