Property details

A superb secret hideaway for six, tucked behind the High Street, with outdoor space both back and front, to catch the sun all day round.

Point Cottage is an attractive double fronted mid terrace brick and flint late Victorian cottage and 'quintessentially Blakeney'! Completely refurbished, the cottage is superbly equipped and beautifully furnished in a laid back understated style, with comfort foremost in mind. Upstairs there are three bedrooms (super king, twin and bunk) and a small cloakroom. The large family bathroom is downstairs. On the ground floor there is a fabulous dual aspect sociable kitchen diner with modern L-shaped fitted kitchen and adjoining super spacious utility area (which can be closed off if needs be). French doors lead out into a private courtyard garden. At the dining end there is a large log burner - a perfect place to enjoy a lazy lunch and especially cosy at cooler times of the year. Afterwards, you can retire to the sitting room and sink into the super comfy Loaf sofas, or snuggle up on the love seat, to chat some more or just chill out and watch the tv.

Point Cottage is a perfect bolt hole for families, friends or couples looking for somewhere to stay that has everything on hand within a few minutes of walking out of the door, and yet is quietly tucked away so you can escape the main hustle and bustle of this busy coastal resort when the urge takes you.

Blakeney is an all year round holiday destination, popular with walkers, bird watchers and sailors. Families with young children can enjoy a spot of crabbing from the quay, take a boat trip out to Blakeney Point to see the seals, and explore the coastal path, marshes and nature reserves close by. If you want to leave the car behind for the day, just take the Coasthopper bus which regularly passes through the village - it will take you to all the coastal villages between Kings Lynn and Cromer.

Surrounding local area

Blakeney is one of the jewels of the North Norfolk coast and a mecca for sailors, birders, artists and walkers. The picturesque harbour is always bustling with children (and adults!) gillying for crabs.Take a walk along the sea defence wall over the saltmarsh and you will be rewarded with simply stunning views. The village is a maze of winding streets and tiny fishermen's cottages, and there are some great places to eat and enjoy the local sea food. Although not directly accessible from Blakeney village; Blakeney Point is the focal point for the Blakeney National Nature Reserve, an impressive four mile long stretch of coastline encompassing a fantastic spectrum of wildlife, including seals and varying landscapes, a sand and shingle spit, salt marshes, sand dunes and a range of plant life. Take a walk through the National Trust's Friary Hills, to the east of the village, and take a picnic, or wander through the woods and go to The Wiveton Cafe - a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal under the stars - make sure you book first though as it is always popular. Try the Wiveton Bell for supper and of course there are some wonderful restaurants and pubs in Blakeney itself! Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall are a short drive away, as is Holt the pretty market town just a few miles inland where you can enjoy shopping at the numerous independent shops.
