Property details

This is a very special, unique property - an individually designed luxurious wooden lodge, set within its own large woodland garden in a 'secret' location. yet within easy walking distance of Holt town centre.

Built by the owner in the basin of an old quarry, and named after a much-loved family pet, Pal's Cabin is a fabulous, bolthole hideaway for four. With thermostatically controlled heat source pump underfloor heating, quality fitted kitchen and bathrooms, and comfortably furnished in a simple Nordic style reflecting the building and surrounding wooded landscape, this is the perfect place to wind down, enjoy the peaceful setting and wildlife that abounds outside.

The light-filled open plan living area has a modern, well-equipped kitchen adjoining the dining and sitting area where extra warmth is added by a contemporary log burner. Full-size windows with french doors on two sides of the room open on to the decked verandah which surrounds the cabin. Two bedrooms (king size and twin) and two bathrooms, along with a utility room, complete the picture.

Up to three well-behaved dogs are welcome at Pal's Cabin, but must be kept under control at all times, and respect the house and ground rules. They will have great fun exploring the garden which is fully fenced (they might smell an odd rabbit or two, as well as a Muntjac deer). A dog sitting service is available - by separate arrangement directly with the owner on arrival.

An easy fifteen minute level walk will take you into the pretty Georgian town of Holt, with its independent shops, restaurant and cafes (please note there is a steepish slope leading down to the cabin from the entrance driveway).

Dogs come free from 20th July - 27th July 2018.

Lovely well equipped cabin, fantastic gardens for the dogs and working wifi for the teenagers! A very warm welcome from Jennie who left treats for us and the dogs on our arrival. Location is amazing, feels very private with all the trees round so we had a very relaxing holiday. Easy walk to Holt centre and a short drive to many other attractions. We'll definitely visit again.

An excellent property! We stayed at Pal's Cabin for 7 days and it was fantastic! I booked it because we wanted somewhere spacious for our 19 month old little boy to run around but also with some luxury for us to enjoy our evenings: Pal's Cabin did not disappoint! The property is excellent, all appliances are seemingly new and top spec. We don't have a dog so I was a little anxious in booking this property, but it was absolutely immaculate and perfect for a young family. The location is great also and Jennie, the owner, was exceptionally welcoming. I would highly recommend and believe that it is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in.

What a perfect place to stay! We are having a lovely week in this superb cabin. We needed easy access & this was perfect for mum - walk-in-shower & everything all on one level. Jennie, the owner is very welcoming & really loves her four legged guests . As all have said before - large enclosed grounds for our two whippets - Larry & Walter to explore - they give it a five out of five paws rating 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶! So many places are doggie friendly. Top food spots - Art Cafe in Glandford for veggies, Back to the Garden on Fakenham Road, Wells Deli in Holt & The Kings Head in Letheringsett... the list could go on ...... We would love to return!

This was our first holiday with our dog and we were not sure what to expect.Where to start - Pal's Cabin is set in an amazing location especially for a very active dog such as ours with lots of secure ground for him to play and run around.
The cabin itself is faultless in every way and has absolutely everything you will need for your holiday with a great attention to detail including treats for the dogs. The location is perfect an easy walk into Holt and close to the coast it is a quiet little oasis that is not overlooked.
And not to forget Jennie who is on hand to provide local knowledge and assistance as well as strokes and cuddles with the dogs. She is a wonderful lady and made us feel very welcome. We will certainly make a return visit.

This is a fantastic cabin ideally placed to visit the area of North Norfolk. Jennie the owner has thought of every detail and makes sure your stay meets all your needs. The cabin caters excellently for dogs, being totally enclosed and well away form any busy roads. This really is a fantastic facility, one which we will definitely return to at some point and i can recommend it to anybody who is considering a stay near the town of Holt.

Without a doubt one of the best dog friendly holidays we have ever had! Jenni the owner is lovely and has spent a lot of money, time and thought on the accommodation. The cabin sits in lovely spacious grounds that are totally secure, even for our little dachshund Frank. The cabin is also very spacious and clean with everything you need including dog treats, poo bags and even a doggy shower! An easy 15 minute stroll to Holt if you fancy a day not driving or 10 minutes by car to the coast. Couldn't fault it, we will return soon.

A secluded cabin within walking distance to Holt - the best of both worlds. The owner is very helpful and the cabin is well laid out and equipped, and spotlessly clean. It's well located for both countryside walking and beaches. The outdoor space is lovely and there is plenty of room for dogs or children to run around safely.

This is a lovely holiday haven with excellent facilities and easy reach of the town centre. The cabin is beautifully furnished both inside and out and lends itself to taking dogs. There is plenty of room in the garden and a lovely gated decking area. The owner Jennie is very welcoming and delightfully helpful. We shall certainly return to this lovely holiday home.

A new and thoughtfully appointed cabin. We stayed here with another couple and our two whippets. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable, reasonably sized bedrooms with lovely bathrooms. The layout of the property has been carefully thought out with quality appliances. There are lovely balconies with a secure small garden and the cabin itself sits in an old quarry which has been landscaped, and is a lovely space to explore. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas to enjoy in the warm weather. Jennie, the lovely owner, has added many thoughtful little touches with the smaller guests in mind (like a pooch shower!) and provided a lovely welcome pack of home make cake, some groceries and dog biscuits. An excellent location, 0.8 miles from Holt centre (Adnams), a short walk from Holt station and about a 15 minute walk to Holt Country Park, through Heath Farm. A perfect location and one of the best holiday lets we have stayed in. We hope to return!

A lovely relaxing break. Pal’s Cabin has everything and more than you need. Our three dogs loved it in the enclosed garden. It’s great for families, lots of board games for the kids and the WiFi works!! Holt town is charming with its tea shop and lots of take away shops to choose from. We highly recommend it.

We were looking for a relaxing girly getaway for me, Mum, Sister and puppy Labrador, Juno. This was just perfect. It lived up to exactly how it was described and we had a delightful stay. Holt is a very pretty little town and the nearby beaches offer great walks. Jennie was a wonderful and attentive host before, during and after our stay. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering a getaway. Perfect for families, friends, with or without dogs as the place is kept to a very high standard. However, it is absolutely ideal for dog lovers. With enclosed grounds to run around and every pub we came across welcomed dogs too.

Pals Cabin is an absolute treasure In a superb location, the chalet is very well designed with under floor heating, wood burner, and has an excellent layout with decking, paved area and enclosed garden for dogs. The beautiful secluded site is wonderful all year and has been a marvellous winter getaway. The host, Jenny, lives nearby and is very friendly and helpful when needed. we are looking for ward to our next visit.

This was a lovely newly built place to stay and pet friendly. Our friends and 3 dogs were housed in great accommodation. Lovely and warm with under floor heating and a belting wood burning stove. Just a short walk into Holt town centre and a few minutes drive from some great country parks and beaches. Our host even supplied a welcome pack of essential food items to kick start our holiday. A lovely host who adores dogs. There was a well fenced area for the dogs to stretch their legs and a decking area where the dogs could stare into the open plan living area at their owners enjoying the sumptuous indoor warmth. Wi-fi and telephone reception was perfect for those who could not leave their phones, ipads and the like switched off. Plenty of parking and a great place to stay for exploring this part of Norfolk.
