Property details

Cobble Cottage is a traditional end of terrace fisherman’s cottage situated in central Brancaster. The cottage has lots of original features, including flagstone floors and stripped floorboards upstairs.

There is a sunny enclosed courtyard garden with french doors from the kitchen.

Brancaster has a great children’s playground and of course the stunning beach. The Ship pub, a five minute walk away does great food, and The Jolly Sailors and White Horse, both in Brancaster Staithe are just a two minute drive.

The cottage provides a comfortable and central base for exploring this lovely coastline. In winter, the log burner will be a very welcome feature after long windy walks on the beach.

Surrounding local area

Brancaster is known for its simply stunning beach. It stretches for miles backed by gentle sand dunes and the famous links golf course of The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club. Seals bask on the creek edges and children can safely paddle in the tidal lagoons. The tide goes out a long way revealing the shipwreck of the S S Vina (beware of strong tides and do not venture out!) The sand is perfect for sandcastles and picnics. Kite surfers provide exciting entertainment on windy days. Parking is a few yards from the beach and anyone who walks that little bit further will be rewarded with their own private stretch of sand! The Ship public house has recently been reopened under Chris Couborough The Flying Kiwi Chef to great reviews. Traditional icecream and lollies can be had from the booth on the beach! Wildlife along the coast is abundant and accessible, Marsh Harriers wheel overhead along with Avocets, Oyster Catchers and Terns. A trip would not be complete without tasting the famous mussels, in season when there is an 'R' in the month.

Guest reviews

Another lovely break away at Cobble, this time bringing our grandchildren for half-term. Visits to Old Hunstanton, Holkham Beach, Poppy Line Railway running the routemaster to Holt. Lovely lunch at The Owl Tearooms in Holt - second visit there and still good. Lunch also at Chequers, Thornham. Need to try Eric's fish and chips next!

Our sixth stay at Cobble Cottage and as always a fabulous base. A mixed week weather-wise but lots of adventure done. A calm evening seal watching from Mortson Quay, and a nature walk, pond dipping at Natural Surroundings near Glandford were highlights. Delicious fish and chips at Eric's in Thornham. Looking forward to our next stay, Thank you!

Lovely two weeks, beautiful walks to beach from cottage. On the whole, fantastic weather. Loved to be back in North Norfolk with our daughter for our first family holiday where she began to walk on the beaches here!

We enjoyed our stay in October so much here we are back again! We love it here and would stay forever if we could. Will settle for 'relaxed' & 'ready to take on the world again' when we get back home.

What a happy stay we have had. So happy to be back in this most pretty cottage that has catered to our every need. Going to our old haunts has been wonderful, and the weather glorious. Hope it won't be eight years again before we return! It's all good.

First impressions great - thank you, how wonderful and inviting for all of us. Daisy was very happy as soon as we entered your lovely cottage. She is only 7 months so it was very important to us that we and she had a wonderful time. The weather was a bonus, finishing with a cool day for us to enjoy on Thursday. Happy to recommend!

This was a nice clean warm cottage convenient for walking to Brancaster beach and coastal path. Good facilities. Extended family and dogs all enjoyed our stay. Only one parking space but able to park beside the recreation ground. Enclosed garden safe to let dogs out
