Property details

Greyseals is a relaxed contemporary house which has been beautifully renovated throughout. Cool linens, Scandinavian style furniture and a fabulous open plan feel, makes this the perfect retreat to host the whole family or a group of friends.

The kitchen is a fantastic social hub, flooded with natural light and is the perfect space to rustle up a fabulous supper. With so much local produce and freshly caught local fish from Brancaster Staithe available, you’d be hard pressed to resist the temptation to dine at home.

The main sitting room which is south east facing and comes with a fabulous log burning stove has been styled in soft whites, greys and splashes of colour. It's the perfect haven for sunny days with bi-fold doors or quiet relaxing evenings. The corner sofa and second sofa are ideal for little ones to doze or for the whole family to hunker down for a movie night. It's also conveniently positioned next to the kitchen.

When the time comes to retire for the evening, you’ll find four luxurious bedrooms, two on the ground floor and two on the first floor with a family bathroom on each floor.

You'll love the king size bedroom with vaulted ceiling and french doors leading out onto the rear garden. And next door you’ll find a twin room, the perfect hide out for the little ones. With a lovely shower room serving both of these rooms, the house is ideal for two familes wanting to holiday together. Upstairs there is a further double bedroom with lovely marsh views and a second twin room, both of which share the upstairs family bathroom.

Like the house the outside space at Greyseals is stylish and contemporary too and the walled garden comes with a decking area, so there’s plenty of room to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Plus its perfect for storing buckets and spades for the daily stroll down to the beach. To the front of the property there is a small garden with gravel driveway which provides off-road parking for three cars.

This property is quietly located in Brancaster village and within easy reach of the beach, making it an ideal retreat for a fun family summer holiday or short gastro break with friends, With The Ship pub/restaurant just a 10 minute walk away and the renowned White Horse pub/restaurant and family-friendly Jolly Sailors pub/restaurant in neighbouring Brancaster Staithe, you're spoilt for choice on where to dine out for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Greyseals holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Brancaster is one of North Norfolk’s hot spots. Popular all-year round it has the church of St Mary The Virgin at its centre and is surrounded by stunning coastline. It’s a popular stopping point for visitors exploring the Coastal Path and is close to wonderful nature reserves including the RSPB reserve at Titchwell. To the east of the village, there was once a Roman fort and settlement named Branodunum which is where Greyseals is located. The area was also the location of a Saxon Shore Fort settlement which tempted the “Time Team” TV producers to commission a TV programme about the site a few years ago. Today the village is most famous for its fabulous beach and marshes which are managed by the National Trust. Try your hand at wind surfing or kite karting within the permitted area, or just fly a kite … the children will adore it, plus they can run wild on the endless sandy beach which is served by a car park and beach shop. It is also home to the Royal West Norfolk Golf Club, one of the most famous links golf courses in the UK. For food and ale lovers, head to The Ship Hotel pub/restaurant where you can enjoy good food. Owned by celebrity chef Chris Coughborough, you’ll discover a mix of locals and holidaymakers in the bar. Head to the neighbouring sailing village of Brancaster Staithe where children will love the popular family pub/restaurant The Jolly Sailors with its pizza oven and ice cream kiosk and outdoor play area. For more grown-up dining, the renowned White Horse offers unrivalled marsh views and fabulous food and wine. Dine al fresco in the warmer months and watch the sun go down from the terrace or on cooler evenings reserve a seat in the conservatory by the window. Shopping is in nearby Thornham, Burnham Market or Burnham Deepdale. And of course all of the pretty villages along this coast are in easy reach.
