Property details

Heavenly Hemingford Cottage is located in the popular coastal village of Brancaster and only a stone's throw from the renowned Ship hotel/pub/restaurant, the fabulous sandy beach and the coastal path. With its warm and welcoming ambiance, it is a perfect a base for a weekend escape, or as an extended family retreat.

This relaxing close-to-the-coast property has an understated seaside appeal. Lovely decorative curiosities are offset against a backdrop of soft greys and warm creams, in this characterful cottage conversion right in the heart of this gorgeous village.
With its home-from-home ambiance, there’s a relaxed vibe to the interior of this stylish property. Embracing chunky beams in the kitchen and sitting room, it comes with plenty of character and splashes of colour too.

Enjoy al fresco breakfast before packing a picnic and walking to the beach for a day spent paddling, swimming or building sandcastles in the summer sun. Or simply return after a busy day and enjoy a sun-downer barbecue on the front terrace.

You will love the super king and king-size bedrooms and there is a twin bedroom too. Although it sleeps 6, it would equally suit a couple for a romantic weekend away, or two couples who want enjoy privacy too. Slip into holiday mode in the comfort of the beautiful beds and luxury linens. With a bath upstairs and separate shower room downstairs, you can wash the sand off between your toes with a post-beach shower or enjoy an end-of-day recline in the family bathroom.

If you love nature, then head to the local RSPB reserve at Titchwell which is in walking distance, or head over to Pensthorpe a short drive away where you can admire wildlife in their natural habitat. Children and the young at heart will adore the rock pooling on Brancaster beach or flying a kite. For more adventure head to Hunstanton Water Sports.

If you love your food, you’ll adore all the local pubs and restaurants that populate this beautiful coast.

Whether you’re looking for a traditional bucket and spade family escape, or a romantic couple’s retreat where you can be undisturbed and enjoy a little together time, Hemingford Cottage is as perfect a cottage for two, as it is a child-friendly one. For winter escapes, ensure you pack your walking boots to head off on foot along the coastal path before heading back to cosy up in front of the open fire, while summer months will find you relaxing in the garden.

There is parking for three cars outside the cottage on the gravel driveway beyond a five bar gate and the garden is fully enclosed, so perfect for a dog too.

Hemingford Cottage holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Brancaster is known for its simply stunning beach. It stretches for miles backed by gentle sand dunes and the famous links golf course of The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club. Seals bask on the creek edges and children can safely paddle in the tidal lagoons. The tide goes out a long way revealing the shipwreck of the S S Vina (beware of strong tides and do not venture out!) The sand is perfect for sandcastles and picnics. Kite surfers provide exciting entertainment on windy days. Parking is a few yards from the beach and anyone who walks that little bit further will be rewarded with their own private stretch of sand! The Ship public house has recently been reopened under Chris Couborough The Flying Kiwi Chef to great reviews. Traditional icecream and lollies can be had from the booth on the beach! Wildlife along the coast is abundant and accessible, Marsh Harriers wheel overhead along with Avocets, Oyster Catchers and Terns. A trip would not be complete without tasting the famous mussels, in season when there is an 'R' in the month.

Guest reviews

The cottage was very comfortable and spacious with a lovely enclosed garden, perfect for the dogs. The location was perfect for us being 25 minutes walk from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the pub.
