Property details

A super family house in central Brancaster, close to both Brancaster Staithe, where you can go sailing and the fabulous, wide-open Brancaster beach - there's space to store your boat too. Perfect for sailors!

Updated in 2018, Marram is a light and airy comfortable house with 'upside down living' - the four bedrooms (two doubles, a twin and single) and two bathrooms (one is en-suite) are on the ground floor, whilst the first floor boasts a spacious and bright open-plan living space taking advantage of the open views. The garden is enclosed and private, and the driveway can accommodate up to three cars, with space left over for a boat too.

Perfectly located, with easy access to the beach and many superb local eating places, you might not want to venture too far afield, but if you do, you can always just catch the Coasthopper bus which regularly runs through the village all year round; it will take you to all the other wonderful villages along this beautiful coastline. If you love golf, The Royal West Norfolk Golf Course, an outstanding links course, runs parallel to Brancaster bay and the salt marsh. This is an area popular with walkers, sailors, cyclists, paddle boarders, kayakers, birdwatchers and dog owners! If you like shopping, trendy Burnham Market is just a few minutes drive away and, for beach lovers, Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea are not far.

Surrounding local area

Brancaster is known for its simply stunning beach. It stretches for miles backed by gentle sand dunes and the famous links golf course of The Royal West Norfolk Golf Club. Seals bask on the creek edges and children can safely paddle in the tidal lagoons. The tide goes out a long way revealing the shipwreck of the SS Vina (beware of strong tides and do not venture out!) The sand is perfect for sandcastles and picnics.
Kite surfers provide exciting entertainment on windy days. Parking is a few yards from the beach and anyone who walks that little bit further will be rewarded with their own private stretch of sand!
The Ship public house has recently been reopened under Chris Couborough The Flying Kiwi Chef to great reviews.
Traditional ice-cream and lollies can be had from the booth on the beach!
Wildlife along the coast is abundant and accessible, Marsh Harriers wheel overhead along with Avocets, Oyster Catchers and Terns. A trip would not be complete without tasting the famous mussels, in season when there is an 'R' in the month.

Guest reviews

House layout (upside down) is very nice. Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful area, amazing beaches and walks. Great for the kids and dog.
