Post Mill Cottage holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Burnham Overy Staithe is home to Overy Staithe Sailing Club. There is a comprehensive chandlery on the quayside. The creek is spectacular in all weathers and the walk along the sea bank to the beach is very special.
Overy beach is deserted and wildlife is abundant. Miles of sand backed by high sand dunes make it a desolate but incredible place. In season terns nest here on the beach and are protected by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
The Hero pub and restaurant is a couple of minutes walk from the quayside and provides hearty and wholesome food.
The Norfolk Coast path runs through Overy Staithe. The black windmill is a true North Norfolk landmark and dominates the skyline for miles, this is owned by the National Trust.

Guest reviews

Enjoyed our weeks stay in your comfortable & very cosy cottage. We have had a good weather. Sunny every day. Visited Wells, Sheringham, Hunstanton & Cromer. Lovely walks from local harbour to the beach. Thank you for welcome pack.

A wonderful weekend celebrating our friend's birthday on the island. Ferry out, walking back through the marshes - check the tides first! Lovely cottage & lucky to have fabulous weather.

Third time we've stayed and just as good as the last times. Thank you. Delightful cottage. Very cosy and relaxing and situated brilliantly for coastal walks and bird sanctuaries. Sure we will be here again.

“Returned again to our little Norfolk hideaway - all the things you need in a weekend break is a short walk from amazing empty beaches, good food and beer all without the crazy clamour of other places along the coast. Ideal for bird watching, artists, walkers, cyclist or people who want to chill. The dog loves it, my wife loves it and so do I. Through the door, kettle on cup of tea then off exploring. Looking at the calendar for another visit.”
