Property details

May Cottage is a very pretty, traditional brick and flint cottage located down a quiet back road in South Creake. This delightful cottage has been beautifully furnished and fitted to a high standard with quality linens, comfortable beds and a small but very well-equipped kitchen. The elegant sitting room retains a "home form home" feel with comfortable sofas, tasteful decorations and is fitted with a wood burner to keep you warm on chilly, winter evenings. It has an attractive, secure, sunny garden with an outdoor table and benches which is perfect for summer entertaining.

South Creake is a thriving North Norfolk village with a popular pub, a children's play area and two grass tennis courts and is only a few miles inland from the beautiful North Norfolk coast and the ever-popular village of Burnham Market. This charming cottage is next door to Sherbet Cottage, if available, the two could be booked together - ideal for larger families or groups of friends wishing to holiday together.

Surrounding local area

South Creake is a lovely village just a couple of miles from Burnham Market. There is a lovely village green in the centre with a play park for children and tennis courts. Sir John Betjeman loved the church here. The village is home to The Yorke Trust, founded in 1985 to promote the arts and particularly music among young people. A more recent development, The North Norfolk Music Festival, presents concerts by international musicians in the church.

Guest reviews

perfect week in a perfect cottage. Weather kind and lovely food. Lovely walk and wonderful scenery. Norfolk never disappoints. 2 little boys (Charlie & Dylan) going home very happy. Sure to return to May Cottage again in the future.

Our third trip to North Norfolk this year with our two dogs. We have been lucky to find very comfortable accommodation but without a doubt this has been the best for both comfort, facilities and location - we hope to return. Weather great. the Duck at Stanhoe is outstanding but do book to avoid disappointment, even in Sept. Thank you.

“A lovely cottage with all the items in the house you would wish for ranging from a dishwasher to high quality beds! A very central location to get to all the top spots in north Norfolk. The owners are helpful and have some great tips for local restaurants , esp. Duck inn in Stanhoe and dabbling duck. All round a place to go to and certainly worth a revisit!”
