Property details

A meticulous luxury conversion of a single storey barn, set in a peaceful village location, with beautiful interiors that cleverly blend stylish minimalist design touches with original features.

The Nurseries offers rest and relaxation in sophisticated, comfortable surroundings that are cool and refreshing in the summer, and cosy cuddle-up hygge in the winter. A great deal of thought has been put into making the barn just that little bit extra special. There are wooden plank doors with Suffolk forged iron handles, stunning concrete tiled floors in the main living space and Danish style furniture. The open plan main living space has a light and airy feel with a high vaulted ceiling with oak beams, three large roof lights which allow sunlight to flood in all year round and grand concrete 'statement' lights, all beautifully complemented by comfortable Fritz Hansen furniture and interesting accessories. The modern fitted kitchen, at the far end of the room, is well-equipped with everything you will need when you prefer to dine in - the separate dining room has smooth ceramic flooring and a large picture window overlooking the angular landscaped enclosed garden and is fabulous for lazy lunches and dinners late into the night. There is underfloor heating to most rooms and a log burner provides extra warmth for when the days and nights turn nippy.

With three bedrooms (king size, double and twin) and two bathrooms, The Nurseries is sure to appeal to all manner of holidaymaker; families, couples and friends, but especially to those who are looking for luxurious, elegant accommodation in a peaceful rural location.

Wonderful walking opportunities abound in this area, and there's easy access to the coast as well as many nearby attractions. For those of you who love to spend time on the beach, The Nurseries has its own pretty as a picture handmade well-equipped pink beach hut at Old Hunstanton which can be booked as an optional extra. The Nurseries holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Syderstone, a traditional Norfolk village, is situated six miles south of Burnham Market and approximately ten miles from the coast at Holkham, Brancaster and Wells. Hunstanton, and its neighbour Old Hunstanton,is about fourteen miles away. The nearest town is Fakenham (five miles away). Famous for its Thursday market, it also has a monthly farmer's market, racecourse, shops, supermarkets, pubs, cafes, ten-pin bowling and a cinema! At nearby East Rudham you will find The Crown, a busy 'foodie' pub where there's also a handy village store/post office. Syderstone Common, a nature reserve owned by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust, is a lovely place to walk and has been designated a site of special scientific interest. It is one of only two remaining inland breeding sites in England of the natterjack toad.

Syderstone is ideally located for visiting Holkham Hall, Houghton Hall and Sandringham House. Sculthorpe Hawk & Owl Trust, Pensthorpe Natural Park and The Thursford Collection are other local attractions that are well worth visiting. If you like browsing galleries and boutiques, nearby Burnham Market has plenty to chose from, as well as a selection of places to eat.

Lovely house and area to spend Christmas in. Thank you for decorations and hamper. The layout of the property really suited our needs. Enjoyed it all. It was a shame that the pub was closed.

We would definitely recommend staying at The Nurseries for your stay in north Norfolk. The barn is clean, beds very comfortable, kitchen well equipped and garden enclosed and safe for children and a dog.

Lovely modern cottage perfect for a family of four. Enclosed garden was perfect for our small dog. Good location as didn’t take too long to drive to many beaches however it is a small village so not much in the immediate vicinity. We also hired the beach hut which was a great base while at the beach although it is set back in the sand dunes and not directly on the beach. Lovely cafe nearby for snacks and homemade dog biscuits. Everything you can think of was provided for a self catered break. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Nurseries.

The stylish Nurseries was a great base for a fun holiday. Lovely and stylish holiday accommodation in a friendly Norfolk village. Fabulous shower, and sociable family friendly living room/kitchen. Teenagers appreciated excellent WiFi and Sonos system for their music. Neighbours really friendly and knowledgeable about this part of Norfolk. Local pub (Lynn Arms) so good - we had two meals there! Numerous local walks from village and across beautiful Syderstone Common. Short drive to excellent beaches. Would be a great location for cycling - hope to return in the autumn/spring. Cycle storage would be a useful addition and a sun shade. Thank you.
