Property details

Such a pretty cottage beautifully furnished throughout and with a fabulous view to the coast and Cromer lighthouse from the first floor terrace.

Providence Cottage is a Victorian mid terrace cottage located in a quiet residential lane on the outskirts of Cromer, just a short walk away from the centre of the town and its beautiful beach. The cottage has great understated, and rather chic, charm with a very calming and considered decor, with some splashes of beautiful fabrics and wallpaper, all complemented by the artworks of a local contemporary artist with a distinctive style. There are two bedrooms (king size and twin), an open plan living/dining room, a well-equipped modern kitchen and, in keeping with a cottage of this age, the bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are rather steep (not suitable for anyone with mobility issues or toddlers). This is a perfect romantic bolt hole for a couple or two, but equally suitable for a small family with older children. The icing on the cake is the fabulous first floor terrace, with wonderful open views across to the coast in the far distance - just take a seat here and soak up that view, perhaps enjoy a lazy breakfast or share a bottle of wine as the sun goes down. A small offering of local goodies will greet you, to tempt your taste buds and, we are sure, make you keen to explore the local independent stores for more!

Cromer has retained its seaside charm and was recently voted one of the best coastal towns in the UK to both live and take a holiday. All year around there is something to do, whether it's spend days on the beach, play golf, walk the North Norfolk coastal path to Sheringham or Overstrand and beyond, go see a variety show at the Pier (the last remaining pier with a theatre), enjoy the annual Christmas firework spectacular, watch the fishermen come in with their daily catch, sample some of the best fish and chips around or a sweet Cromer Crab. There are some fabulous places to eat both in town and close by, and the National Trust properties at Felbrigg Hall, Blicking and Sheringham Park are only a short drive away.

There is a right of way along the top path, outside the cottage, for refuse collection.

Providence Cottage (Cromer) holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Cromer, perched on the very edge of the north Norfolk coast, is famous for its tasty crabs, wide open beaches, a traditional pier complete with a theatre providing seaside special variety shows and is awash with small local independent shops. As you would expect of a seaside town rich in its fishing heritage, it has a lighthouse and a proud tradition of RNLI service. It has been said that the lifeboat service is the lifeblood of the town and the Henry Blogg Musuem offers a great insight into the service's past history.

Cromer is a vibrant Norfolk town with a wide variety of cafes, restaurants, shops and accommodation, all independently owned and many passed down through the ages from parents to children. For shopaholics, in addition to traditional seaside shops selling buckets and spades and seaside gifts, there is a selection of local art galleries, home ware stores, ladies & gents fashion as well as fashion accessories shops. There are several fish shops and, of course, many stalls selling the famous and delicious sweet Cromer crab.

Guest reviews

Such a lovely cottage on the outskirts of Cromer. Beautifully decorated with a mixture of modern and recycled. Spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and soft bedding. We had everything we needed and more. Roof top area to sit out an enjoy sun. Beautiful area to explore. Sits of the outskirts of Cromer, parking outside the door and in Cromer.

Providence Cottage turned out to be ideal for our five day stay whilst visiting Nanny. Beautifully styled and high quality, we could ot ask for anything more. Not to forget the wonderful bed! A couple of late starts thanks to its super comfort. No doubt we will be coming back the next time we visit Nanny! Until then!
