Property details

The Old Butcher’s Shop is a spacious and delightful detached luxury conversion, oozing character and style, located in the centre of Heacham within easy walking distance of the beach, shops and pubs/restaurants.

Beautifully transformed and converted by the owners into a gorgeous holiday home, this special hideaway is ideal for both walking and cycling enthusiasts who want to be in a thriving village yet within easy reach of the countryside, beaches and sea.

Formerly serving life as the village butchers, The Old Butcher’s Shop sits under a slate roof and Norfolk red brick walls. The owners have spent the last few years sensitively refurbishing and renovating it into the rustically romantic home it is today. Now this luxury self-catering bolthole invites couples and families to immerse themselves within. Perfectly positioned to access the North West Norfolk coast it is also well located for exploring the whole of the North Norfolk coast.

Using a palette of calming chalk paints intermingled with splashes of colour, the large family bathroom even has an essence of French boudoir.

A luxurious solid oak king size bed rests as the focal point of the master bedroom, dressed in luxury linens and textured throws, which promises a peaceful and sumptuous night's sleep.

A further king size bedroom and double bedroom are stylishly equipped with beautiful window dressings, mirrors and artefacts.

Sit outdoors with a pot of tea and survey a map to plot your day; whether it be walking, cycling or simply heading to the beach. If you can't bear to tear yourself away from this beautiful house, then relax outside in the sunshine in the lawned garden.

Head to The Norfolk Deli in Old Hunstanton and stock up on picnic goodies of local produce (or call them and ask them to deliver) before heading out on foot to the beach. After a day’s exploring, return to The Old Butcher’s Shop and bask in the warmth of the log burner.

The Old Butcher’s Shop large kitchen is well-equipped with an electric oven with hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave plus a large table that can seat ten if required as and when The Old Butcher’s Shop is booked with The Old Butcher’s Stores.

Whilst retaining its authentic character, we´re sure you’ll be seduced by the charm of The Old Butcher’s shop unique features.

There is private parking to the rear of the the property for two cars. If the property is booked in conjunction with The Old Butcher's Stores, then a side gate provides access so the outside areas can be shared.

Guest reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed our week in the Old Butcher's Shop. There is everything you could want there. The kitchen is a lovely bright room, and there are several lounges that are cosy in the evenings. The location is ideal for touring this part of Norfolk, and there are many fine eateries within easy striking distance. Would certainly recommend it.

Relaxing break. We spent 5 days in this lovely property that did not disappoint, it was just as the website described it. The location is very good for exploring the Norfolk coast, and shops within walking distance which is perfect. The property is spacious and renovated to a high standard with a secure garden for children. We would definitely return.

We had a lovely time in this huge house, and especially appreciated all the baby equipment. We felt very lucky to be the very first guests. We recommend the excellent Indian take-away down the road. Yum.
