Escape the hustle and bustle of the coast at this peaceful, rural retreat just a short drive away. The orangery,a rather unique place to stay, is set within the grounds of the Grade II listed Snettisham House, just outside the main village of Snettisham. A super little spot for a romantic getaway or would be perfect for a family. In keeping with an Orangery, the cottage has been tastefully decorated encompassing a botanical theme with rooms benefiting from full height sash windows overlooking the south facing garden. With calm neutral colours and cosy textures of beautiful wool throws and sheepskin rugs, you may feel tempted to just stay in and watch a DVD or read during the winter. In summer, you can relax in the secluded garden and enjoy a BBQ and a glass or two of wine! Why not venture along one of the many pretty walks or cycle rides from the cottage and be amazed at the dears grazing so close to this tranquil spot.

The luxurious accommodation for four people is on one level and has a beautifully furnished sitting room with vaulted ceiling - just the place to relax after a busy day exploring the stunning North Norfolk coastline. There is a newly fitted bathroom and kitchen which is very well equipped. Children are looked after with their own crockery, a plentiful toy basket and DVD's, high chair and bed rail (Upon request) and enclosed garden with lawn and gravel areas.

Perfectly located to explore the coast either to RSPB Snettisham or a day out on one of the many beaches nearby. If sailing is your passion, then Snettisham has a very active sailing club. Guests can either take a ten minute stroll to the popular Rose & crown gastro pub and village shops or walk to Snettisham Park farm which is just a stone's throw away. A bit further afield is the Queen's residence at Sandringham House - only a ten minute drive away.

The Cottage really is perfect for families, walkers, cyclists, birdwatchers, artists or just those wanting to escape to a peaceful retreat.

The Orangery holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Snettisham is a coastal village to the south of Hunstanton, also home to the RSPB reserve on the coast of The Wash. Many migratory birds descend there during the winter months and the skeins of geese honking and clattering is one of the iconic Norfolk sights. Snettisham has a great pub, The Rose and Crown. It serves great food and an enclosed garden with a fab children's adventure play area. The village is well served with amenities including chemist, a local shop, hairdressers and second hand book shop, perfect for browsing away a couple of hours! There is a Bistro style restaurant, The Old Bank Cafe, on the market square; take your own wine at no extra charge. For the children, Park Farm is a lovely place to explore, with hands on experiences including a Deer safari on a tractor to see the herd of Red Deer roaming about. You are perfectly placed for the coast, Snettisham has its own beach just 2 miles from the centre of the village, Hunstanton is a 5 minute drive and Brancaster a 15 minute drive. Sandringham Estate, the Norfolk home to The Queen is just 10 minutes away.

"Thank you very much for letting us stay in this very special place - we had a very relaxing and peaceful time and felt very comfortable and spoilt by your welcome basket. All our needs were met and our initial fear for the survival of your beautiful lamps disappeared once the children discovered the toy box! We hope to visit again soon."

We’ve been coming to Norfolk for 17 years and have never been disappointed and this year is no exception. What better way to recharge than to spend time in beautiful surroundings and a delightful cottage. We both look forward to coming back …… again. P.S. Thanks for the little treats that were waiting for us. They were delicious…a lovely touch.

There is only one word for The Orangery: Imm-ac-u-late! Superbly equipped and decorated. All designed for a relaxing, care free weeks’ holiday. We were fortunate that the weather was excellent - warm and mostly sunny so we were able to do lots of walking and cycling. We also sampled most of the local pubs, all of which produced delicious food. We will be back! Lastly, many thanks for the lemon drizzle cake and other goodies, they were much appreciated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Orangery-a very luxurious cottage with all mod cons and some lovely welcoming touches of homemade goodies, wine and milk which were much appreciated. The location is perfect and very peaceful but close enough to walk into Snettisham. We enjoyed several visits to the Rose and Crown- eating at the Restaurant there on one occasion, which was delicious. Thanks for making this such a lovely place to stay.

The Orangery was perfect for us in every way. We went as a couple with our 2 and a half year old child. It's all on one level, has an enclosed garden, set in a remote location (bliss), but just a short drive away from lots of places. A lovely surprise awaited us when we arrived, a homemade cake, biscuits and a bottle of wine. All delicious! The accommodation is well thought out, finished to a high standard and the kitchen is so well equipped. We were so lucky to be there in beautiful weather. Once little one was asleep we sat out in the garden listening to nothing but sheep and birds whilst having a few glasses of wine. None of us wanted to go home, and we'll definitely return.

Both house and gardens. Top notch meals at the Rose & Crown. Already looking forward to visit number three!

“"The Orangery was perfect! We really appreciated the little details, such as your information pack (which we diligently read from cover to cover!). Because of the information you provided we ate some fab fish and chips, visited the Rose and Crown in the village, Wells and Burnham Market. We also loved the decor! We certainly collected a few ideas. We were both able to switch off, relax and really enjoy ourselves. And what a beautiful and perfect location for a few days away - thank-you."”
