Property details

Troon Cottage is a delightfully handsome three-storey luxury Edwardian house with four en-suite bedrooms, within easy strolling distance of the beautiful sandy beach, sunsets and cliff walks of Hunstanton.

If you are seeking a rather charming seaside house, then surely Troon Cottage is it. This luxurious yet inviting home sits the lighthouse end of the town along a tree-lined avenue and comes with a gloriously sunny fully-enclosed courtyard garden.

Stylish with a capital ‘S’, but not pretentious, this French-inspired boutique retreat is full to the brim with antiques, sparkle, character and lots of charm.
Gather in the morning in the warm kitchen/sitting/dining area and take a seat around the breakfast table. Light the log burner on cooler days, or when the temperature rises, open up the bi-fold doors and let the sunshine in while you plan the day’s activities. After a busy day exploring the coast and local attractions, retire on an evening to the high-ceilinged sitting room with its open fire and period fireplace before heading upstairs to four dreamy bedrooms set over two floors, all with en-suite facilities, making it an ideal property for large families or friends who want to holiday together yet want a good degree of privacy and want to feel at home.

Troon Cottage is in easy walking distance of the town centre, beaches and cliff-top walks and is a short drive by car to HM The Queen’s Sandringham Estate and the surrounding parkland, RSPB Titchwell bird reserve and various Norfolk Wildlife Trust sites.

Troon Cottage holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Hunstanton is a traditional Victorian seaside town complete with a wonderful sandy beach, restaurants, fish and chip shops and is particularly renowned for it's beautiful sunsets over the sea, due to the fact that although it sits on the North Norfolk coast it faces east! Of late it has become a mecca for Kite Surfers and there are regular competitions held over the year. Buckets and spades are also the order of the day and the town bustles during the summer months. Don't miss a beach walk beneath the the multi-coloured cliffs which sparkle and glow in the sunshine. If you're lucky you might even spot a fossil.

The town was founded by Henry Le Strange and in 1846 he had the idea to cash in on the new craze of bathing in the sea by creating the 'sea bathing station' of Hunstanton St Edmund. You will notice lots of interesting buildings in and around this Victorian town, many in the Arts and Crafts style; the architect HG Ibberson being responsible for many of the fine buildings and quirky features.

With grassy peaceful squares, a long promenade and a green that runs down to the bandstand, Hunstanton is an all-year-round traditional seaside family holiday destination. However if you want to venture further afield, then head to some of the local stately homes at Houghton, Blickling or Felbrigg or of course HM The Queen's Sandringham residence which is just a very short drive away. There are numerous bird and wildlife reserves and of course don't miss a visit to some fabulous deli's, cafes and restaurants which all use lots of local produce on their menu. Don't forget to pop into The Norfolk Deli during your stay and grab some of the best coffee around at Thornham Deli just a few minutes' drive up the road in Thornham.
