Blue Skies holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Old Hunstanton is a rarity along the North Norfolk coast in that you can get very close to the beach without walking a long way over the salt marshes! Miles of sand, gentle sand dunes and beach huts make this a perfect family seaside holiday destination.
For the more active, Old Hunstanton has become a mecca for Kite Surfing and Hunstanton Golf Course, a challenging links course is voted amongst the top 100 courses in Britain.
Old Hunstanton has an abundance of great places to eat, all within walking distance of our holiday cottages, including The Neptune, a Michelin-starred restaurant; The Lodge Hotel and The Mariners Arms, plus of course there is the ever-popular beach cafe, great for a good fry up or lunchtime snack!
The lifeboat station is a good place to visit and you might get to see the hovercraft being launched too, a sight well worth seeing!
When you don't want to spend the day on the beach, go explore further afield (there's plenty to see and do).
The neighbouring Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton, or 'Sunny Hunny' as it is known locally, is a traditional seaside town and popular holiday destination throughout the year appealing to all ages who are looking for a variety of activities. The wide open beach here is thought to be one of the safest and cleanest in the UK, and this part of the North Norfolk coast is renowned for its stunning sunsets - make sure you don't miss them.

Guest reviews

Just wanted to say - thank you very much for our holiday in Blue Skies. It is one of the nicest homes we have stayed in. It is very comfortable and very well laid out. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic break by the seaside. A very pleasant stay and house was as lovely as before. Nice and easy walking to the beach in only a few minutes and as last year's stay plenty in the house to keep entertained and relaxing. Would recommend this without hesitation to any guests as a lovely house in a great location.

What a fantastic property to spend my 50th birthday, spotless, well equipped and the décor had so much attention to detail and lots of lovely items in the house. The sea view was amazing and we enjoyed the whole holiday and we were very lucky with the weather. We will definitely be coming back to Blue Skies!

Blue skies at Blue Skies!
We enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Blue Skies in February, with unseasonably good weather. Sunshine and blue skies all round! The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean and bright, with lots of lovely paintings and quirky decorations, all with a nautical theme. The furnishings are high quality, with two comfortable sofas and lovely beds and the kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is lovely too and would be a great place to sit outside in warmer months. The double-sided wood burner is lovely but we found it too hot with the underfloor heating going as well. (I'd suggest using one or the other, not both!)
Old Hunstanton beach is just a few minutes' walk away and just the place for a bracing walk. We didn't try any of the local establishments but there's a nice-looking pub just down the road. Old Hunstanton is a lovely little village; Hunstanton itself was less to our taste (lots of amusement arcades and fast-food restaurants) but there are plenty of other lovely towns and beaches in driving distance. We also visited Wells-next-the-Sea (lovely but busy) and Brancaster beach (great for dog walking – as is Old Hunstanton beach).
All in all, highly recommended and we'd definitely visit again.

Lovely house, lovely location. Lovely comfy house on a nice leafy street but only a very short walk to the beach. Couldn’t fault it. Pubs close by. Perfect for walking along the North Norfolk coast with a warm cosy house to come back to.

A great location - a lovely house with sea views from the bedroom, warm and cosy for a winter holiday. In a great location just a few minutes walk to the great local dog friendly pubs and wonderful beach.
