Property details

An attractive house located in a quiet road just a few minutes walk from the beach, with sea views from the garden and two of the bedrooms.

This lovely detached house, furnished in a fresh, contemporary seaside style, is flooded with light, comfortable and extremely well-equipped. With accommodation for six, Blue Skies is just perfect for families and friends looking for somewhere to stay that is within easy walking distance of a sandy beach, plenty of local facilities and places to eat, and is a great base from which to explore both rural and coastal North Norfolk.

Blue Skies gives you that relaxing holiday feeling as soon as you walk through the door and its owners have put a great deal of thought into ensuring that you have everything you need to enjoy a wonderful, carefree holiday. With an open plan and spacious downstairs living area with under floor heating, and double sided log burner, to keep all rooms super warm in the colder months, this is the perfect house for different generations of one family wishing to take a holiday together at any time of the year. Upstairs there are four bedrooms (a king size, a double, two singles) and two bathrooms. There is a large enclosed garden, safe for children and dogs - one dog is welcome to stay, but please respect house rules.

Hunstanton beach with its soft sand, dunes, marram grass and beach huts (why not book one of ours to make your holiday complete?) has an excellent beach cafe overlooking the sea and a lifeboat station to visit. When you don't want to spend the day on the beach, go explore further afield (there's plenty to see and do), then return to Blue Skies, kick off your shoes and chill out at the end of a busy day.The neighbouring Victorian seaside town of Hunstanton, or 'Sunny Hunny' as it is known locally, is a traditional seaside town and popular holiday destination throughout the year appealing to all ages who are looking for a variety of activities. The wide open beach here is thought to be one of the safest and cleanest in the UK, and this part of the North Norfolk coast is renowned for its stunning sunsets - make sure you don't miss them.

Blue Skies holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Old Hunstanton is a rarity along the North Norfolk coast in that you can get very close to the beach without walking a long way over the salt marshes! Miles of sand, gentle sand dunes and beach huts make this a perfect family seaside holiday destination. For the more active, Old Hunstanton has become a mecca for Kite Surfing and Hunstanton Golf Course, a challenging links course is voted amongst the top 100 courses in Britain. Old Hunstanton has an abundance of great places to eat, all within walking distance of our holiday cottages, including The Neptune, a Michelin-starred restaurant; The Lodge Hotel and The Mariners Arms, plus of course there is the ever-popular beach cafe, great for a good fry up or lunchtime snack! The lifeboat station is a good place to visit and you might get to see the hovercraft being launched too, a sight well worth seeing!

Guest reviews

Blue skies at Blue Skies!
We enjoyed a lovely long weekend at Blue Skies in February, with unseasonably good weather. Sunshine and blue skies all round! The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean and bright, with lots of lovely paintings and quirky decorations, all with a nautical theme. The furnishings are high quality, with two comfortable sofas and lovely beds and the kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is lovely too and would be a great place to sit outside in warmer months. The double-sided wood burner is lovely but we found it too hot with the underfloor heating going as well. (I'd suggest using one or the other, not both!)
Old Hunstanton beach is just a few minutes' walk away and just the place for a bracing walk. We didn't try any of the local establishments but there's a nice-looking pub just down the road. Old Hunstanton is a lovely little village; Hunstanton itself was less to our taste (lots of amusement arcades and fast-food restaurants) but there are plenty of other lovely towns and beaches in driving distance. We also visited Wells-next-the-Sea (lovely but busy) and Brancaster beach (great for dog walking – as is Old Hunstanton beach).
All in all, highly recommended and we'd definitely visit again.

Lovely house, lovely location. Lovely comfy house on a nice leafy street but only a very short walk to the beach. Couldn’t fault it. Pubs close by. Perfect for walking along the North Norfolk coast with a warm cosy house to come back to.

A great location - a lovely house with sea views from the bedroom, warm and cosy for a winter holiday. In a great location just a few minutes walk to the great local dog friendly pubs and wonderful beach.
