Sandy Bottom holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Old Hunstanton is a rarity along the North Norfolk coast in that you can get very close to the beach without walking a long way over the salt marshes! Miles of sand, gentle sand dunes and beach huts make this a perfect family seaside holiday destination. For the more active Old Hunstanton has become a mecca for Kite Surfing. Hunstanton Golf Course, a challenging links course is voted amongst the top 100 courses in Britain. There are great places to eat, all within walking distance of our holiday cottages, including The Neptune a Michelin Star restaurant, The Lodge Hotel and a lovely traditional beach cafe serving a good fry up! The lifeboat station is a good place to visit and maybe see in action. The hovercraft being launched is a sight wellworth seeing!

Guest reviews

Comfortable bungalow in an excellent position. This is our sixth visit to Sandy Bottom, it is a very comfortable bungalow and within only a short walk from the beach. I would have like a mirror in the twin bedroom but apart from that everything else is good. The dogs love the position and get excited with the propspect of running on the sand. I would recommend Sandy Bottom to anyone who wants a quiet holiday.

We chose this bungalow because the location was so close to the beach, 10 min walk, perfect for my dog Alfie who loves to run on the beach. So peaceful, down a gravelled drive so no cars rushing past, beautiful gardens all secure so did not have to worry about Alfie escaping. The kitchen was perfect, lovely bedrooms comfy double bed. Nice walk through old Hunstanton to the shop or the Lodge Hotel, where the food is amazing. I do hope we can go back again next year.

Peaceful location - excellent, well-equipped cottage in a wonderfully peaceful location. A short stroll from Old Hunstanton's sandy beaches - what more could you ask for?

A Little Gem - we absolutely loved Sandy Bottom and the only slight drawback was that we both found the beds a bit hard. This is only a very personal view as other people might find them fine.
It is clean and modern and in a brilliant location for privacy, the sea, a local shop and pubs. We enjoyed the surrounding wild life in the field behind and loved the fact that we could walk to the sea. We found our host to be very generous leaving a lovely breakfast hamper and wine. Sandy Bottom is a little gem and we hope to return. Thank you.

Real lovely place. It's the first time we've been to Hunstanton, but not the last. The bungalow was first class, it had everything you needed and the welcome hamper was a real nice touch to the holiday.
Hunstanton itself was a lovely place, everywhere you went was very clean. It really was a very nice holiday, will go again. All in all, it was first class.

Comfortable beds. Lots of areas to sit outdoors and the patio a real suntrap. Quiet and private but close to all amenities and the beach. Beach car park reduced cost if you are not staying all day and only walking the dog.

We enjoyed a wonderful week at Sandy Bottom - the house is perfectly situated , backing onto a field which was populated by geese and pheasants every morning and is a short pleasant walk across the golf course to the beautiful beach. This is a very dog-friendly area. The house is very well equipped and the two shower rooms are excellent. The welcome pack of bread, milk, cereals and a bottle of wine was a lovely touch. We hope to return to Sandy Bottom next year.

A lovely peaceful holiday for me and my dog. Lovely home with excellent garden for my dog. Comfortable bed, so a good nights sleep. Very quiet - just the birds singing in the garden - perfect. Short easy walk along a quiet lane, across a golf course, over the dunes and onto a fabulous beech. Tide goes out a long way, so can be quite a walk for a swim. It's a nice sandy beech. Lovely cliff top café and beech café where dogs are welcome inside - great on a rainy day. Mobile phone reception zero both inside and outside (unless hanging over the garden wall) - so wifi provided very useful. Plenty of off road parking.
