Holme-next-the-Sea is a pretty village located between Old Hunstanton and Thornham on the North Norfolk coast. Holme beach has a huge expanse of sand and marsh and this quiet village is the perfect base for walking and birdwatching. It also has a very good pub, The White Horse which is in easy walking distance of Lavender Barn. Explore Holme nature reserve or head to the RSPB nature reserves of Titchwell just a short 5 minute drive away or a little further to Snettisham where you can in the winter months enjoy a 'pinkie breakfast' watching the huge swathes of pink footed geese fly overhead as they travel from the marsh to feed on the sugar beet fields. Head to neighbouring Thornham village with is plethora of award-winning eateries, pubs, restaurants, deli's and cafes (there is even a restaurant in a yurt) and one of the coolest fish and chip restaurants along the coast of pick-your-own fruit at Drove Orchards. Burnham Market is still considered North Norfolk's loveliest village and you can enjoy browsing galleries, boutique and lifestyle shops before heading to the famous Hoste Arms for lunch or supper. HM The Queen's residence, Sandringham is a short drive away as are Houghton Hall and Holkham where you can explore the parkland, museums and in respect of the latter, probably the best privately owned beach along this coastline. Wells-next-the-Sea is a fantastic seaside town and children and adults too will adore crabbing from the quayside. Head to Hunstanton Sea Life Centre or Hunstanton Watersports if you are craving a little adventure or visit Park Farm where you can enjoy a deer safari.
