Property details

Expect extra brownie points for choosing this little seaside beauty for a short or longer stay in the charming coastal village of Holme-next-the-Sea. This luxurious and stylish Grade II listed 300 year old flint cottage, can either be a romantic love nest for two or a wonderfully unique homestay for four.

Nestled in the heart of this quiet village opposite the pub which serves good food and only a short 20 minute stroll across the golf course to the sandy beach, Piper Cottage is fabulously located and filled with original beams, thick stone walls and a log burning stove.

Step inside and you're guaranteed to fall in love almost immediately. The owner, who is an interior designer, has styled the property carefully using a palette of soft greys and blues, which reflects the coastal location and little touches make this place very special whatever time of year you choose to visit.

Walk into the living space and take a seat on the soft sofa or one of the easy chairs. With dining space for four, you can look forward to supper over a glass of wine or simply write postcards home. Off the sitting room you'll find a beamed kitchen with modern painted units, granite worktops and a Butlers sink which blends perfectly with the interior of the cottage. Perfectly formed and well-equipped you'll find everything you need to cook up a treat, using locally caught seafood and shell fish and some fantastic local produce which are all available locally, within a five mile radius.

Climb the Norfolk winder staircase to the first floor where you’ll discover the first of the two beautiful bedrooms; a stunning King size bedroom with quality linens, soft feather pillows, duvets and soft furnishings. Next door you'll find a super shower room and a separate WC. Up a further winder staircase you'll find the twin bedroom which is located on the second floor. Equally as stylish it also has quality linens with soft feather pillows and duvets. You are also rewarded with distant views of the sea on a clear day.

Outside you have a pretty south-facing terrace to enjoy, with garden furniture provided so you can soak up the rays and enjoy a leisurely coffee.

On a practical note there is also a spacious utility room which comes with the property which is located in an outbuilding, just a few steps from the row of cottages. Here you'll find a washing machine, Butlers sink, BBQ base and additional fridge/freezer.

There is parking to the front of the cottage and because the road is quiet, there shouldn't be any problems in finding a spot.

Just a short drive away there are numerous pubs and restaurants, shops and galleries in both Thornham and Old Hunstanton and of course the whole of the coast is just waiting to be explored. If you enjoy golf, then head to the famous links course at Old Hunstanton, a short five-minute drive away or you can walk the course from Holme.

Please note: the owners welcome children over the age of 5 years only.

Guest reviews

What a fabulous few days ini our beloved Norfolk. Piper Cottage is just stunning, we felt very at home and we are very sad to leave. The coastal path from here to Thornham and back was stunning and we really enjoyed our family week. Holme next the Sea beach is a gem of a find and we shall return for sure. Highly recommend the coffee and cakes at Thornham Deli although one slice is enough for two. You attention to detail is second to none and Piiper Cottage is one of the nicest places we have stayed. True luxury.

Thank you for providing a first class base for our short break. The accommodation is superb. I couldn't fault the attention to detail. You seem to have thought of everything that could possibly be needed and equipped the cottage to a very high standard. Our new find this year was The Maltings in Wells. The best bacon & egg ciabatta roll I've ever had. Plus proper buttercream in the Victoria Sandwich!! We're looking forward to returning next year.

Thank you very much for a beautifully presented and immaculately clean cottage. We have really enjoyed our stay here and have found some wonderful local walks close at hand, and farther afield. There are great places to enjoy for coffee and cakes or for delicious meals, and all very friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be back.
