Guest reviews

We all really enjoyed staying in the house - very comfortable and well equipped. We appreciated the effective heating and the log burner. Everyone, even Grandad on his 80th birthday enjoyed the zip wire. Lovely walks to Hunstanton, Thornham and Ringstead. Good meals at The White Horse in the village and The Lifeboat at Thornham.

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Holme and more specifically Sybil Cottage. The gardens in particular are beautiful and enchanting and the kids have had endless fun on the trampoline, swings and zip wire in the woods. The cottage is snug and homely and we have settled in properly. We appreciate the well equipped kitchen, the decent showers and the fantastic book, music and DVD collection. It felt nice staying in a family home that has clearly been loved by so many. We have visited Norfolk many times but never to Holme. We've enjoyed the peaceful, quaint and calm surroundings and the proximity to Sunny Hunny and Brancaster, Wells etc.
We will be back!!

Our second visit to Sybil Cottage as a family (1-6 August 2016) previously. We felt at home as soon as we were all gathered together, enjoying the garden immediately as the weather was glorious.Ethan 8 remembered the garden and zip wire and was thrilled to share it with his cousin Jacob (4 1/2). Rachel 21 months, her leg recently out of plaster loved the trampoline. We all had some lovely evenings in the garden of the White Horse including a very good meal of fish and chips. Beach days, outings to see the seals at Blakeney and a slightly longer trip to Roarr - Dinosaur Adventure Land all added up to another memorable family holiday.Thank you for letting us make this delightful house our home for the week.

The facilities at the cottage were good and the layout made it perfect for our three generation family. The highlight was the truly amazing garden which provided the grandchildren with hours of fun. The summerhouse was an ideal play space and the zip wire was very popular! The only drawback was the tandem parking in the drive which sometimes meant a car having to be moved to let the other car out.

We have enjoyed our visit to the Norfolk coast and made the most of the fantastic weather. The cottage is perfect for our three generation family. The grandchildren, aged 8 and 6, were very impressed with the gardens and the summerhouse.

A lovely cottage in a quiet location with a beautiful garden. This is a lovely, well appointed cottage inside, but if the sun is shining it is the beautiful and well manicured garden where one is drawn to be. There is a large trampoline and a table tennis table that were not included in the details, so there is even more for children and young adults to do than we expected. There is no road or plane noise (except for the very occasional military jet). It is just a short walk to a pub and a slightly longer walk to the dunes and a sandy beach beyond. Do check the tide times though, as the sea does retreat quite a way at low tide. It is also possible to walk the 3.5 miles to Hunstanton along the beach. The north coast of Norfolk is a quiet backwater but there is still plenty to see and do irrespective of the weather. We recommend going to Sandringham, Castle Acre (ruined castle, ruined monastery with a village pub between), Wells where it is worth walking down the channel to the beach at the end, and Pensthorpe (bird reserve with lovely wild flower meadows).

We had a truly wonderful week in Sybil cottage. It is a haven for children both young and old. The cootage is well equipped and very comfortable. The position is great for beaches and lovely walks. The local pub is good with many other good pubs in nearby Thornham. Hunstanton is also close with all other amenities.

We've had a very enjoyable week here in this lovely house and fantastic garden. Our children loved the zip wire and all the garden games. We were joined by our Mums on the Sunday and Dad on Thursday so three generations and plenty of space for us all. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen extremely well equipped. Lovely location and enjoyable walk to the beach.
The children liked the bunk room and the master bedroom is spacious and the balcony great with a lovely view of the garden.
We would have loved to have stayed longer and hope to come back one day. Thank you

What a lovely time we have had at Sybil Cottage.
The grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed their time in your amazing garden that goes on, seemingly, forever. What a wonderful main garden too.
Every blessing to all who assist in running this holiday home. Thank you

A very enjoyable stay in your lovely house. The children ages 2,5 and 14 months enjoyed the fascinations of the garden (and the cows in the field next door) plus the activities provided.
We loved the village setting and the proximity of the local pub with playground. Lots of interesting birdlife in the area and some wonderful local beaches. We all loved spending a wet day at the Sealife Centre in Hunstanton and the 2 glorious days in Wells. The 5 day stay was all too short - we didn't want to go home.

Amazing gardens which kept the children endlessly entertained. Perfect spot for walkers/birdwatchers as several walks straight from the cottage. Beautiful walk from house to Thornham via the Holme Visitor Centre.

“Thank you for allowing us to use your delightful home in Holme, with its most amazing garden. 2 little boys have been in their element especially when we explored the 'Gruffalo Wood'. The beach days we've enjoyed have been superb and morning walks to the sea have been invigorating. 2 big boys have relished the proximity of The White Horse for their daily revival. All in all a memorable holiday. ”

“Sybil Cottage was a paradise for my two youngest grandsons aged 4 and 8.The garden and playroom gave them hours of pleasure ,with its swings trampoline and zip wire. We were all so happy in the garden that we never left it for the first weekend!Adults lounging in the comfy deckchairs. The caretaker was superb ,such a nice man. Who met us to say the kitchen hot tap was running slowly-first thing Monday morning the plumber was there to put things right,We discovered a wasps nest in the wall and rang him and it was dealt with within the hour. The proximity to the White Horse was an added bonus. We have booked four houses through Norfolk Hideaways over the years and have already booked for next year.”

“Fantastic week in Norfolk - down for tennis week and the sun shone! The garden and games room are super - the kids (13 and 11) loved the zip wire and basketball hoop and the garden games were great. Thornham Deli was as great as we remembered, as was the White Horse at Brancaster. Do try Eric's fish and chips at Orchard Drove and the afternoon tea at Titchwell Manor and go to Titchwell Bird Reserve. Thank you for a lovely week. ”
