Surrounding local area

Thornham is an old smuggling village right on the North Norfolk Coast. Wide expanses of salt marsh separate the village from the sea and it is a paradise for walkers and bird watchers. There are several great places to eat including The Village Deli, selling all manner of local produce and great coffee, The Lifeboat Inn, an old smuggling haunt complete with heavy beams and roaring fires, The Orange Tree a gastro pub and The Coach House selling pizza and pasta. We had a wonderful four days at Sea Holly Cottage with our dog and would definitely return again next year. We discovered that Thornham had many great dining options and the kitchen in the cottage was well equipped for dinners at home. The back garden was secure for the dog and there was a tap to hose off muddy dogs. The house was super-clean and tidy, with beautiful decor. All in all - ideal.

A stunning and comfortable cottage in an excellent location with lovely views. We had a weekend at Sea Holly and would thoroughly recommend. Lovely cottage in a great village with excellent pubs. The cottage provides everything you need and has the right balance between modern amenities and some period and interesting pieces which make for a cozy and welcoming home. There is a beach which is about twenty minutes walk from the cottage across the raised walk way between the marsh area and fields (near the lifeboat pub) which is more than worth the walk to. Simply stunning.

Another great stay in Thornham.

Have been to Wigeon Cottage (next door) I knew what I was expecting and it didn't disappoint.Jenny has created a lovely base from which to explore the joys of Norfolk.
Well equipped, all mod cons and very comfortable .Great location and another great week in Norfolk - we love it.
So much so that we are going back in November to Sea Holly .
Garden is totally secure for the dogs and all beaches and pubs are very dog friendly also.
Loads of gins and great food at Orange Tree. Intimate atmosphere at Shucks at the Yurt .Also enjoyed Duck Inn at Stanhoe and Chequers in Thornham - all very friendly.
Didn't get chance to sit in the garden due to weather but did not spoil the break at all. Great walks from the door and beaches at Brancaster Holkham and even way down in Mundesley and Sea Palling were excellent.

We've had a fantastic time at Sea Holly Cottage! What a gorgeous cottage with beautiful furnishings and decor. It was just perfect here for exploring the north Norfolk coast, our dog particularly enjoyed the walk across the fields to Thornham and so did our girls! It's so dog friendly everywhere here, the beaches are brilliant for them. There are also a couple of fantastic pubs just a few minutes walk away, we loved the Orange Tree and the Chequers, give them a try! We hope to return one day, we couldn't fault anything, thank you so much!

My wife Liz and I and out two dogs spent two really great weeks at Sea Holly Cottage again in June this year I say again because were there in October last year and will be there again in October this year, that's gives an Idea of how impressed we are by the cottage. The cottage is semi detached,,Widgeon cottage next door is identical apart from a few furnishing difference and is lawned rather than paved. They are built in the tradition North Norfolk Style but new and very modern . Sea Holly is finished to a very high standard, three good sized bedrooms one ensuite with a very large shower and then a separate family bathroom all were well furnished. The living dining kitchen area is large and spacious and very comfortably furnished with all the equipment you could wish for. There is also boot room and downstairs loo. One small criticism if I may cushions and a parasol for garden furniture would be nice. Church road where the cottage is located is possible on of the best places to stay in the village over looking feeds and the mashes with views of the famous coal house. Thornham is one of the nicest places you can stay with fantastic walks on you doorstep close to Hunstanton which has a Tesco and a Sainsbury's. There are three fantastic pubs in the village plus the the fabulous Shucks all dog friendly. There is also The Thornham Deli and Erics fish and chips (excellent fish and chips) that only allow dogs on the terrace. I can't recommend Sea holly and Thornham enough. In fact I have already booked Widion cottage for two weeks year why Widion not Sea Holly no reason really just don't want to get too stayed.

Thank you once again for a fantastic stay at Sea Holly, very much enjoyed by us and our two little dogs, we were so lucky with the weather this time, it was hotter than the Med! Our daughter joined us for one weekend as they too have become fans of Thornham and your fabulous house. This year our son and daughter in law also bought our Granddaughter for the other weekend and they loved it too, what have we done!! Once again, we took advantage of delicious food at the Orange Tree and the Lifeboat not to mention fish and chips from Eric's but our favourite was definitely Shucks at the Yurt. Very much looking forward to our next stay in October! Thank you again!

We have just spent a wonderful relaxing week in Sea Holly Cottage. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need, it felt like home from home. The little extras such as the fresh flowers on the table and home made cakes made it feel very special and welcoming. It has been a great week and we will definitely be returning to this beautiful cottage in its idyllic location.

Sea Holly Cottage is the best location ever - looking out over the marshes to the sea. Thornham village ahas 3 dog friendly pubs and a deli - so a great location! You can do loads of long walks straight from the door. The cottage is not big but has all you need in it and is well equipped and well looked after. Perfect for the two of us and our two dogs...

Sea Holly Cottage has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard, it is immaculate, enabling you to have a great holiday. You are made to feel at home from the moment you step in the door. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need, good quality China, nice glasses and even cookery books! Think it is the best self catering property we have ever stayed in, the owner has thought of everything, we needed for nothing. There is a lovely view from the master bedroom across the Marshes, you can do some nice walks directly from the cottage without needing to get in your car. We walked to Holme a couple of times, the beach there is wonderful. We picked to stay in the village of Thornham as this area is very good for bird watching, especially this time of year, you get lots of geese flying over, an amazing sight/sound and is very central to visit lots of other lovely places. We look forward to returning again, hopefully in the not too distant future. We had a fantastic holiday!

We have just a enjoyed a great week at Sea Holly away from the hustle and bustle to preparation for Christmas, it is the perfect place to stay! We enjoyed lots of walks from the door step including our favourite nature reserve at Holme. The cottage is immaculate and has been furnished and equipped to a very high standard, certainly one of the best self catering places we ave ever stayed in, you certainly deserve your Five Star Rating. We look forward to returning, thank you so much.

Our first visit but certainly it won't be our last! A weekend would never have been enough to explore this wonderful coastline but we can always look forward to other times! The weather was not our friend but Sea Holly Cottage provided that cosy warmth that meant we could just relax and wait for the rain to pass over. We can't think of a single thing we would change here at Sea Holly. Outage, perfect for people and pooches!

Courtesy of our friend's organisation, we were fortunate enough to stay in Sea Holly for our friend's wedding. It was a perfect, cosy, comfortable and very attractive place to stay. We slept so well and enjoyed eating in the beautiful kitchen. The deli round the corner is a hidden gem too! Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend!

Having stayed in North Norfolk several times, including Thornham where Sea Holly Cottage is located, it is by far the best. You could not want for more. Lovely views, easy walking to excellent pubs and restaurants and the Thornham Deli. Beautiful quiet beach a decent walk from the front door. Good off road parking and peace and quiet. Perfect.

Sea Holly cottage is a really well appointed very comfortable Luxury modern house, built to look like a traditional Norfolk Cottage. It is also dog friendly, It comes with every convenience you could need from wood burner, underfloor heating very nice ensuite with shower that really works and good family bath room. Down stairs is a large open plan living room, one end modern kitchen diner, the other end is a comfortable lounge with decent sized television. There is a utility room for boots and coats and dog bits a separate door leeds to the washer dryer and cloakroom. Outside is a beautifully paved garden. that gets the evening sun. The location is great in walking distance of three great pubs. It is right on the North Norfolk coastal path and has great views from from the front of the house it even has a well positioned bench at the front great for an early evening glass of wine while taking in a few rays. It is one of the best cottages I have stayed and I've stayed in a few. In fact we came reluctantly home after fantastic week and rebooked for two weeks in June and another in October to coinside with North Norfolk restaurant week. Not to be missed.
