Property details

Three Tuns is a character end terrace Victorian cottage, that was originally the village pub. Owned by the same family for the past thirty years, the cottage has recently undergone a complete renovation and been tastefully updated to create comfortable, modern living while still retaining lots of cottage character and charm, with latch doors and wooden floors.

Tastefully furnished throughout with quality fixtures and fittings, there's a modern, well-equipped fitted kitchen, a spacious sitting room with super comfy sofas and separate dining area, two king size bedrooms (one downstairs with en suite wet room), and lovely views of this pretty village from all windows. It has good sized, private south facing gardens to laze in on sunny days, and ample private parking for two or three cars.

Great Walsingham is an ancient and peaceful North Norfolk village, with an award-winning pie maker and cafe, gallery, craft centre and gift shop. It is just four miles inland from the popular coastal resort of Wells-next-the-Sea, and its nearby sister village of Little Walsingham, a medieval wonder that is well worth a visit, has a renowned farm shop, pubs, restaurants and cafes. This is a well cared for and much loved cottage that will appeal to walkers, cyclists, families, couples and friends. Please note care must be taken with the very steep Norfolk winder stairs, which will not suit anyone with mobility issues. There is a handrail, but no stairgate, making the stairs unsafe for very young children.

Three Tuns holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Great Walsingham, in true Normal for Norfolk style is actually smaller than Little Walsingham its more famous neighbour. The two villages are bisected by the River Stiffkey and the braver of visitors can drive through the picturesque ford providing you have a large enough vehicle. This is a lovely spot to come and sit and watch the water float by and walk along the river bank. It is much more peaceful than Little Walsingham with a beautiful medieval church which retains much of its original art and carvings. There is a craft barn and local cafe serving very delicious lunches and light snacks. The coast at Wells next the Sea is a very short drive away.

Guest reviews

Our second year at this cottage and it won’t be our last. It has everything we could wish for. It is only a short drive to the coast and coffee shops and pubs within walking distance. A true gem in a beautiful part of the country.

We really enjoyed our stay in Three Tuns, the cottage was very comfortable and beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches like the throws in the lounge, umbrellas (we actually had great weather!), the nespresso machine and the welcome pack! We had a little problem with the smoke alarm but the owners quickly called the electrician out to deal with it - thank you!
The kitchen and the downstairs wet room look newly refurbished and to a high standard and the cottage was very clean with all the equipment - and more - that you would need. We enjoyed lots of walking along the coast and made use of the excellent Coast Hopper bus service for the return legs. An excellent meal at the Black Lion at Little Walsingham (and an interesting look round the shrine) completed a great week!

Beautiful, well kept cottage in a lovely quiet location not far from the coast. It was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean on arrival.

Private parking was a bonus although the gate was a little tight to get into especially as there were usually cars parked opposite it. However, this was a minor inconvenience and it would not stop us staying here again or recommending it to others.

Three Tuns is a very comfortable, homely and well kept property. A lot of attention to detail has been put into making it a wonderful place to stay whilst exploring North Norfolk. The cottage has everything and more you could require for a self catering holiday and the location is very central yet a in very quiet village.
