Property details

Blackberry Barn is one of four beautiful barn conversions set in wonderful picturesque grounds of just under three acres at the 17th century White Horse Farm. The barns offer luxury, beauty and tranquillity in the peaceful village of Gunthorpe, just twenty minutes from the bustling North Norfolk coast, two and a half miles from Thursford (famous for its Christmas Spectacular) and seven miles from the charming market town of Holt.

All the barns offer the extra luxury touch of 600 thread count Egyptian cotton linen, White Company toiletries, fluffy towels and welcome goodies. You have access to the lovely grounds, including a grass tennis court and the owner's beautiful kitchen garden - if you wish she can prepare delicious food for you to enjoy in the privacy of your barn - why go out to dinner when you can stay in?!

Blackberry has a beautiful open plan living space with exposed trusses and a log burner, where you can cook, dine and relax, and one cosy bedroom and a shower room. Blackberry is semi-detached with Walnut Barn next door, which sleeps four. It looks out onto the beautiful shared quadrangle with garden furniture for al fresco dining and the fabulous walled seating area available for all guests to enjoy.

One medium sized dog is welcome (possibly two dogs, by arrangement only) and must be kept on a lead whilst on the farm and never left alone in the barn.

White Horse Farm Barns are ideal if you are looking for private spaces for a larger group, and the barns could be let together, sleeping up to ten guests, with ample dining space to eat together in Primrose Barn (sleeps 2).
The White Horse Farm Barns: Blackberry Barn (sleeps 2), Walnut Barn (sleeps 4), Primrose Barn (Sleeps 2) and Cowslip Barn (sleeps 2).

Surrounding local area

The village of Gunthorpe is situated in a shallow valley on the eastern side of the A148 King’s Lynn to Cromer road. At the centre of the village is a green where there is a convergence of five roads. In the north west of the village there is a parish church which is dedicated to Saint Mary. Close by is the old village school which was built in 1869, but now closed. It is a very historical village with many interesting buildings including Gunthorpe Hall, designed by Sir John Soane who was the architect of The Bank of England building in Threadneelde Street. Close to the market towns of both Fakenham and Holt and just a short drive to the coast.
