Guest reviews

This is a wonderful cottage. Sufficiently far from the madding crowd -if that's what you want- but a couple of miles drive and you can be on a long beach , in a busy market town or having a meal in an excellent restaurant. The area and amenities are mostly dog friendly and the local folks are charming and helpful. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. We have a dog and it was a blessing to be able to take him everywhere with us. We visited Norwich for the first time, a beautiful unspoilt city with loads of history and good architecture. Also took in Cromer, Sheringham, Blakeney and Wells all remarkably well looked after and free of litter! We are already making plans for our next visit- the Norfolk Food Festival is coming soon and is obviously a big event. If you want to de-stress and have some fun this is one of the places for you.

From the minute we stepped in through the door, we knew this was a very special cottage. We were greeted by the most wonderful hamper filled with all sorts of goodies including treats for the children - so thoughtful and generous!
The cottage itself was cosy and homely, yet luxurious at the same time. Every room had a wide variety of books to browse through and the DVD collection was great too. There were plenty of blankets and throws, also cushions of all shapes and sizes. Toys inside and a garden for the boys to let off steam - fantastic! We stay in Norfolk several times a year and can honestly say that this cottage is a real gem! Thank you so much for a fantastic weekend - we are looking forward to coming back soon!

We had such a lovely weekend in Fieldhouse Cottage. Super location - within easy reach of Holkham, Wells, etc. But so, so quiet and rural - lovely! Penny had prepared the house so thoughtfully - our two daughters, aged 6 and 3 were delighted with the toys and games she'd left for them, and the homemade biscuits were amazing.

This really is the most idyllic cottage we have ever stayed in Norfolk. Perfect for a small family and dog. Great location with wonderful views. Easy to get to wells next sea and other villages. Great walks and pubs in the area. The welcome basket was outstanding. We look forward to returning.

“Fantastic!! This is the third time we have booked through Norfolk Hideaways this year and was the best stay to date. Penny, the owner, took the trouble to contact us directly to introduce herself and offer some extra advice and find out a bit about us as a family. Well after a couple of email exchanges in which we explained ref our three rescue dogs (and I mentioned it was Lorraine's birthday the day we arrived) we certainly got the impression Penny enjoyed providing a personal touch. When we arrived we were suitably impressed with the idyllic location and approach to the cottage and when we entered were totally blown away with the welcome pack hamper which was packed full of personalised treats for us an the pooches. In particular a card, homemade cake and present for Lorraine was particularly touching. The cottage itself was ideal for us, full of carachter, warm with quality mod cons, a real home from home! Although the weather was a bit hit and miss we thoroughly enjoyed our break exploring another beautiful corner of North Norfolk and would book this property again in a heartbeat. The property stands for itself but it was Penny who really made the difference, look forward to returning soon, ”

“We were lucky enough to book this perfect cottage for our week in Norfolk. We arrived in the dark after a long journey (and long week) to a warm, glowing, homely cottage full of really thoughtful treats for all of us (including the dog!). We woke to look out over the fields on one side and a garden blooming (even in October) with flowers on the other. The rooms were so comfortable and on top of all this there were so many books and games that we really would have liked to stay for several weeks. Thank you for all the considerate touches.”
