Location, location, location! You will be hard pressed to find such a super, stylish little cottage that's got a better view of the Quay than this one. And there's a small parking space too.

Situated at the far end of Wells harbour, this lovely character cottage enjoys fabulous views from both the kitchen and master bedroom across the Quay towards the marsh and sea beyond. Refurbished in 2018, Creek Cottage has been sympathetically updated and furnished in a low key relaxing style with comfort foremost in mind. There are two bedrooms (double and twin) on the first floor, along with a shower room. Down the Norfolk winder stairs on the ground floor is a well-equipped dining kitchen, cosy sitting room and a further bathroom. Outside is a small courtyard garden with seating. Perfect for enjoying a relaxing glass of wine or two at the end of a busy day. This bijou cottage is a true delight and is sure to be a very popular holiday choice for families, couples and friends.

At full tide the harbour comes alive with fishing boats unloading their catch and local sailors setting out and returning from a day's sailing. Step out of the front door of Creek Cottage and you are just a two minute walk from the heart of this popular seaside town - Staithe Street, with its eclectic mix of cafes, restaurants and independent shops to browse selling absolutely everything. If you have left something behind, worry not, you will find it here and when you want to eat out, you are spoilt for choice with eateries to choose from.

Creek Cottage holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Wells-next-the-Sea is one of North Norfolk’s popular coastal destinations, offering visitors a wide variety of ways to while away the hours either exploring the vast beach or the town. Formerly a major port for the export of grain, its harbour is now used by smaller craft offering fishing cruises and boat tours. The Albatross, found on the Quay, is a former Dutch cargo ship built in 1899 as a North Sea clipper. One of the oldest sailing ships still afloat, instead of sailing the high seas, she is now permanently moored alongside the Quay and used as a bar, restaurant, music venue and B&B.
The Maltings, which re-opened in 2018, is a major new cultural hub providing the town with arts and entertainment (art and craft exhibitions and films, including NT Live ballet, opera, theatre). So much to see and do, and that's before you have even got to the beach.
Children love Wells for its many amusements, crabbing from the Quay, its boating lake and beach hut lined sands - a day at the beach can be easily filled and it is often a favourite spot for families.
The Wells to Holkham walk, either via the beach or pine woods, takes you through a North Norfolk Area of Natural Beauty and is a great thing to do at any time of year. You can stop at The Victoria at Holkham for a drink and snack before either walking, or catching the Coasthopper bus service, back to Wells.
The town offers a wide selection of places to eat, whether it's just a snack or something more substantial. Worth a mention are The Crown and The Globe, both of which are on ‘The Buttlands’ and excellent gastro pubs. For a taste of locally caught seafood, the Wells Crab House Cafe or French's fish and chips are hard to beat.
From the picturesque harbour you can either walk (around twenty minutes) or take the narrow-gauge railway or car to the town's most spectacular beach, renowned for its colourful beach huts and sands stretching as far as the eye can see. This beautiful coastline is a top destination for walkers, bird watchers and seal trip excursions, not forgetting catching crabs, the local favourite activity.
With the spectacular country estates of Holkham, Sandringham and Blickling just a short drive away, Wells provides year round enjoyment for all ages.

Delightful cottage - shame about the small parking area. Weather was great - lots of cycling in this beautiful area.

Perfect weather, lovely cottage. Close to twenty of the 'clan' gathered once on this magical coastline to dig, walk, run and consume body weight in fish and chips! Creek Cottage was a super base for all we did. Thank you

The owners have thought of everything. Creek Cottage is in a great location for exploring Wells and the local area. It retains its charm while having every comfort and is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The winder Norfolk stairs might challenge someone with mobility issues but we managed fine. They have installed bannisters and a handle to hold as you go up and down so it's fine and we're over 60. The parking is adequate. We have an Escort Fiesta and could get it in the garage, just, but it worked parking with the bonnet in and the door open. It's lovely to have the view over the marshes and out to sea, there's always something to watch while you have a cup of tea and plan your day. We definitely plan to stay again.

We stayed here with friends over from Ireland. The cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated to a high standard, also immaculately clean. Attention to detail is second to none, with lovely personal touches. The location is on the east end of the quayside in Wells, within minutes walking distance into the town. Amazing views of the harbour from the balcony doors in the main Bedroom and side bedroom windows. Peaceful in the evenings. Would not hesitate to recommend this property and would stay there again.

Location location location, Wells has lots to offer and Creek cottage puts you right in the heart of it.The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard and provided a wonderful base for my families adventures. Crabbing on the harbour, walks and castle building on the sandy beaches. Fun and games at the arcades and superb food from the wonderful and welcoming Pubs. Best not forget boating at Holkham hall, and the boys loved the treehouse playpark. My two boys 7 & 5 loved the twin room and quickly made it there own with favourite teddies and bedtime books. The living room and kitchen provided ample family space to enjoy breakfast and evenings together. The inglenook fire (gas) was a welcome addition for the colder evenings. The views from the master bedroom across the harbour and out to sea will not be forgotten. Get yourselves to Norfolk for a wonderful adventure.

Cottage is lovely and comfortably accommodated our family of four. it had everything we needed and served as a good base for our exploration of the area. we really enjoyed Wells beach as well as the beach at Holkham, but would suggest accessing the beach through the dunes rather than from the car park as that got a little messy!!

Creek Cottage had everything we needed or wanted, it is a lovely place to stay where we felt relaxed and pampered. We did a couple of great walks along the coast path as far as Cley, and the coast hopper bus service is very reliable. We had a nice meal at the Golden Fleece and want to go back to eat at The White Horse in Blakeney and the Red Lion at Stiffkey next time! :)
