Property details

Experience coastal living and book a stay at Fisherman’s Cottage. This lovely little characterful self-catering cottage is centrally located yet quietly positioned and features beams, painted wood, a Norfolk winder staircase and nautical charm, plus best of all it has a sea view!

With its stunning dog-friendly beaches, Fisherman’s Cottage offers a stylish self-catering break in Wells-next the-Sea. With its rustic interiors and views of the quay from the second floor, it is a wonderful cottage to escape to whatever time of year and lends itself to a single couple or two couples wanting to holiday together.

In the height of summer, take in the sun’s rays on the front terrace and relax in the knowledge that you only have a short walk to one of the many pubs and restaurants which populate this vibrant little town.

Comfortable sofas and a scattering of cushions and welcoming log burner, create a bohemian-coastal inspired theme in the sitting room, where you can open the door to the front terrace during the summer months, or snuggle down on the sofa in front of the fire during the cooler autumn and winter months.

Cook up a treat in the modern and well-equipped kitchen and share good conversation across the table in the dining room with a good glass of wine.

Access to the first and second floor is via a traditional steep Norfolk winder staircase, so do take care when ascending these floors, although the view from the top floor is worth the climb!

On the first floor you’ll discover a spacious twin bedroom which can be dressed either a twin or as a Super-King bed if desired (please request at time of booking). On the same floor there is a separate luxury shower room with WC, wash hand basin and large walk-in shower with rainfall shower head.

Up a further flight of stairs and you’ll delight in the beautiful en-suite bathroom with WC, wash hand basin and free-standing claw-foot bath which serves the master double bedroom and boasts views to the harbour and sea.

Enjoy a lovely soak after a busy day exploring, before tumbling into bed before another day dawns.

With so much to do, don’t forget that you literally have one of the best beaches on your doorstep. Wells beach is unique and it is a photographer’s dream with its pine forest and quirky beach huts.

Don’t forget to head to Wells Deli on the quay to grab picnic fayre for a day on the beach, or for the best pancakes along the coast, climb aboard The Albatross where you can enjoy Dutch pancakes for breakfast!

Children and adults will adore gillying (or crabbing) from the quay and you will love watching the children excitedly count their catch before returning them to the sea. With the best fish and chips on the coast and fresh sea food from the quay, Wells is a perfect place to enjoy a short break or longer stay any time of the year.

Cars can unload luggage outside the cottage and out of season you can park directly outside the cottage. However, between Good Friday and 1st October, parking restrictions are enforced, therefore during these times, parking is either in Harley’s car park 2 minutes’ walk away, or in the public car park just five minutes’ walk away.

The beautiful little seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea sits in the middle of the beautiful North Norfolk coast. An amazing area to cycle, walk in and explore the local wildlife, you won’t find a nicer town to stay. Shop to you drop in the Staithe Street, the little high street that joins the lower and upper parts of the town together, dine at The Crab House if you love fish, head to The Crown Inn on The Buttland’s for fine dining or their good bar menu, have breakfast or morning coffee or afternoon at Bang! In Wells, or call in for a freshly brewed and ground coffee at Grey Seal Coffee on the harbour. If you are looking to the ultimate beach and escape, take a boat from Burnham Overy Staithe to Scolt Head Island, you won't find a more beautiful place than that.

Cosy and stylish. We are a family of four, and stayed at the Fisherman’s Cottage over a rainy Easter week. The cottage is warm and cosy, and location couldn’t be better, right on the Quay, and within minutes of delicious fish and chips!
The cottage is stylish with huge soft beds, a roll top bath, warm blankets and a wood burning stove. Be aware though that as an old building, the stairs are extremely steep, not for small children or anyone with mobility issues perhaps.
The owners kindly left us a great hamper to enjoy after our journey, much appreciated!
