Property details

A deceptively spacious traditional brick and flint cottage tucked away in the heart of Blakeney, just a two minute walk from the Quay. Beautifully styled and furnished with comfort and quality featuring high on the list, you will find Sea Holly House a very peaceful and relaxing place to stay.

Tucked quietly away from the village High Street, this early Victorian cottage has been totally refurbished and the use of neutral coloured furnishings and decor enhance the character and add a contemporary touch. The overall effect is one of calm, and easy charm.

Sea Holly House offers accommodation for up to seven guests. On the ground floor you will find a well-equipped galley style kitchen and an adjoining dining hall. The sitting room invites you to relax and settle down with a book or film, day or night, and the log burning stove will keep you extra cosy when the days turn chilly and the nights draw in. The cottage has four bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor (double) along with an adjacent shower room and the three further bedrooms (king, king/twin* and single) are on the first floor, along with a good-sized family bathroom.

Outside, just a few steps from the backdoor, is a handy ‘washhouse’ with a washing machine, tumble dryer, large fridge freezer and microwave. The secluded west facing garden is fully enclosed and has been attractively landscaped to include a flagstone seating area with garden furniture. There’s a further small cottage garden area with seating near to the kitchen - ideal for enjoying an early morning cuppa.

Sea Holly House is perfectly positioned - it’s only a short walk from the Quay, local amenities and a choice of places to eat as well as being a great base if you wish to explore further afield. This rather fabulous Norfolk hideaway is suited to couples, friends and families looking to enjoy a short or longer stay in this pretty coastal village and beautiful area of North Norfolk.

*Please note: the king bed with the twin option will be available from April 2019.

Sea Holly House holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Blakeney is one of the jewels of the North Norfolk coast and a mecca for sailors, birders, artists and walkers. The picturesque harbour is always bustling with children (and adults!) gillying for crabs.
Take a walk along the sea defence wall over the salt marsh and you will be rewarded with simply stunning views.
The village is a maze of winding cobbled streets and tiny flint-faced fishermen's cottages and there are some great places to eat and enjoy the local sea food too.
Although not directly accessible from Blakeney village; Blakeney Point is the focal point for the Blakeney National Nature Reserve, an impressive four mile long stretch of coastline encompassing a fantastic spectrum of wildlife, including seals and varying landscapes, a sand and shingle spit, salt marshes, sand dunes and a range of plant life.
Take a walk through the National Trust's Friary Hills, to the east of the village, and take a picnic, or wander through the woods and go to The Wiveton Cafe - a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal under the stars - make sure you book first though as it is always popular.
Try the Wiveton Bell for supper and of course there are some wonderful restaurants and pubs in Blakeney itself!
Head to Morston Hall owned by celebrity Chef, Galton Blackiston for a very special meal to remember.
Visit Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall which are both a short drive away, as is Holt the pretty market town, a few miles inland where you can enjoy shopping at all the independent shops.
Don’t forget to treat yourself at Byford’s one of the best places to have coffee and cake. Or if you want to eat cake closer to home, then head to the local Blakeney deli where you can purchase all number of delights, dine out at the refined and prestigious Blakeney Hotel or enjoy more casual dining at the popular White Horse. With galleries, shops and a fresh fishmonger's, Blakeney is a very special place and in an easy walk of Cley-next-the-Sea.
Head to Holkham if you want to walk on one of the best beaches in the UK and take time to see the hall, parkland and museum.

Welcome hamper included

A complimentary hamper will be awaiting you on your arrival containing milk, tea, fresh coffee, bread, butter, eggs, juice, wine and cheese, along with other essential items to prepare a light snack or breakfast. There may be some regional variations.
