Located within walking distance of the water’s edge, these cottages offer wonderful views of the sea meaning that every time you open your curtains you’ll know exactly where you are.

Norfolk’s great no matter what time of year you choose to visit. While, of course, the summer months mean you can enjoy the very best of the seaside fun that this part of the country has to offer, the winter months are also something quite special. There’s nothing like a bracing walk along the beach or the promenade when you’ve had a hearty Sunday roast. While you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the crowds in the summer, in the colder months you can live like a local and enjoy Norfolk when it’s quiet and tranquil.

Another great thing about Norfolk is that it’s a wonderful place to explore with many of the towns and villages close to one another it’s easy to visit a few in the space of a day. If you’ll be heading to the beach you’ll find car parks near to most of the popular beaches. Do be aware that costs can be high in the summer months and the car parks will fill up quickly. In the winter months though, you are likely to find car park charges are reduced or even free. However, if you choose one of our cottages by the sea, you’ll find car parking on site which might mean you don’t need to move the car at all.

Romantic places to visit

The Gazebo at Sheringham Park
You’ll find this in the middle of Sheringham Park and while it’s a bit of a walk to get to you’ll be rewarded with an amazing 360 degree view of North Norfolk allowing you to take in the scenery.

Holkham Beach
Used as a filming location for the film ‘Shakespeare in Love’ romance just fills like it’s already in the air when you get here. It’s also been voted the number one beach in the country by UK travel writers so well worth a visit.

Sandringham
What’s more romantic than making like a Princess and spending the day at the Queen’s country estate. It’s open for tours during the summer months with a great restaurant on site too.

Dog friendly beaches to visit

Heacham South
The beach at Heacham South is easy to walk and has lots of lovely dunes for dogs to explore. It’s counterpart Heacham North is also just as lovely but there are some dog restrictions in place so make sure you read the signs.

Wells-next-the-Sea
Wells is a perfect place for pooch no matter what time of year you choose to visit, as dogs are allowed on the beach here in the even the busy summer months. If you fancy a stroll you can walk to Holkham beach from here either via the beach itself or through the pinewood trail which sits just behind.

Snettisham beach
While Snettisham is mainly a shingle beach, you’ll find a grassy area too making this very ‘walkies-friendly’.

Family friendly beaches to visit

Great Yarmouth
Heading to the far east of Norfolk, you’ll enjoy one of the most colourful and fun seaside towns the UK has to offer. With lovely sandy beaches you’ll also find a whole host of family attractions on the seafront too including theme parks and miniature golf courses.

Wells next the sea
The popularity of Wells is clearly demonstrated by the masses of people that descend each summer! This is a lovely sandy beach with plenty of room and clear visibility if your kids head out towards the water.

Hunstanton
Another family favourite, the promenade at Hunstanton is also full of family fun. The beach is large and sandy, ideal for families of all ages.
