Cottages with swimming pools

What greater luxury is there for a summer break than having your very own swimming pool at your accommodation? No matter if you’re looking for a way to enjoy some morning exercise or want to entertain the kids throughout a hot day – having your own pool is something quite special.

Just show me the properties

We’re delighted to be able to offer a number of cottages which have swimming pools. Some are set within small holiday complexes which gives you a much larger pool and the opportunity to mingle with other guests as well. Of those, you’ll also find that some of the swimming pools are indoor and heated, so ideal no matter what time of year you visit.

We also have a number of cottages which come with their very own swimming pool - private and exclusive to the cottage you are booking. With these ones you’ll still get a very generous sized pool at around 10m length, so ideal for a few lengths before a big meal! Having your own pool is wonderful as the kids don’t need to worry about being too noisy or splashing other people, they can just have a great time together!

If you visit in the summer months, you’ll find that many of our cottages also have luscious lawns to enjoy a bit of sun-bathing while you dry off from your swim. You might also find a BBQ out back as well. On a warm summer’s day with your very own pool, outdoor dining and lazing in the sunshine – there’s really no place like Norfolk.

And while the simple act of splashing around and having fun is likely to keep the kids entertained for hours, here are some simple ideas for games you can play in the swimming pool:

Treasure Hunt

Drop into the pool objects, such as weighted plastic rings, for the children to go in and find. This helps to build water confidence as the children have to go under the water to find the treasure and collect it. The game can also go on for as long as you like – if the treasure keeps finding its way back into the water.

Set lap challenges

This is great for more competent swimmers, and a way of really enjoying the health benefits which come from a daily swim. Challenge either yourself or your children to swim a set number of lengths of the pool each day. Then each new day, add on another 5 lengths. You’ll be surprised to find how many lengths you end up swimming on the final day of your break, and also how many laps you’ll have done altogether. This is great to do first thing in the morning to get everyone wide awake – and means you burn off lots of calories ready for a cream tea or an ice cream during your adventures later on.

Volleyball

You don’t need any fancy equipment to be able to successfully play a game of volleyball in a swimming pool. Pulling across a length of rope or a washing line is a great makeshift way of creating a dividing line between the two teams and then you simply need a ball to play with.
