Property details

The beautiful Field Row is the owners' much loved second home which has been converted from a row of three farm cottages into one stunning, spacious detached holiday retreat. Set in the pretty, peaceful village of Field Dalling, everything about this cottage has the 'wow' factor. Many original features have been retained, which seamlessly blend with contemporary fixtures and fittings, including an amazing galleried landing overlooking the living and kitchen/breakfast room, the focal point being the vast inglenook fireplace and double height vaulted ceiling.

From the moment you arrive at the property and set foot inside the traditional Norfolk cottage style entrance hall you cannot help but feel relaxed. A cosy beamed sitting room with oak flooring and cottage-style windows with shutters leads off the entrance hall. Stylishly decorated and furnished with comfy sofas set around a wood burning stove with a fabulous surround. All of the bedrooms have high vaulted ceilings. The open-plan living area is the real 'hub' and a wonderful space for families and friends to enjoy spending time together. All the windows have hand crafted shutters and overlook the patio and mature cottage gardens beyond. The bright hand-built kitchen has shaker style fitted units, a double Belfast sink and Aga. There is a large farmhouse table with seating for up to ten people, ideal for family meals and a friends 'get together'.

Field Row is perfect for families and ideal for friends, but also a rather romantic spot for a couple or two, who are looking for a beautiful, peaceful location with lots of space to spread out, both indoors and out. The cottage is a great base from which to explore this wonderful part of North Norfolk, having easy access to both coastal and rural delights.

Field Row holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Field Dalling is one of those 'tucked away' pretty North Norfolk villages that you may not have heard of, but it is just three miles inland from the coast at Morston, and four miles from the coastal village of Blakeney and the Georgian market town of Holt.
Seal trips leave from Morston Quay on most days of the year, and here you will also find the critically acclaimed Anchor Pub and the Michelin starred Morston Hall hotel and restaurant.
A little further on is the popular village of Blakeney with a great choice of pubs, restaurants, cafes, shops and a renowned deli.
There is some fabulous coastal and rural walking to be found in this area.
It's a popular location for birdwatchers, and cyclists will enjoy exploring the meandering village lanes.

Guest reviews

Lovely private cottage in the perfect location to explore both arms of the North Norfolk coast. Large garden and open downstairs space made it perfect for our family - and the kids having their own end of the cottage with separate staircases was a treat for us all! Would love to visit again.

A lovely fortnight, peaceful, great weather, perfect cottage for us. Lego, football matches, swings, percy pigs...We made the most of North Norfolk and the cottage and would love to come again one day.

We have had a wonderful stay in your beautiful cottage. We particularly loved the kitchen (that aga!), shutters, baths and fireplpaces. The garden was a wonderful space to use too. Three of our party live in Norwich and ti was lovely to spend more than a day in the most beautiful part of our county. For the other two, from Kent, it was a fantastic way to get to know the area better. We really enjoyed the NN railway, Frenchie's fish and chips at Wells, the Deepdale Cafe, Byfords, the beach at Brancaster and The Holkham Estate. This was little Arthur's first holiday (he is ten weeks) and he thought it was smashing while here, miraculously, he slept through the night for the first time! 9 and a half hours! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Happy Holiday Home. The house was basically excellent! Located in a quiet and tranquil location but ideally situated for access to all the North Norfolk attractions and coast. The main kitchen and sitting area was a lovely warm home from home with a friendly and warm AGA and all the utensils and equipment you could ever want.
The right hand building of the property needed some extra heating as it felt a bit cold and damp initially but with the heating that was rapidly sorted. Mac our Labrador loved the large garden and the local walks. The cows at the cattle farm just across the road from the property were a bit vocal for the first few days presumably just having had their calves taken away from them but that was a sound of the country. The pig farm at the opposite side of the property was well shielded by trees and the sounds of the piglets and pigs was again a sound of the country. We had an excellent holiday

Many thanks for the use of your lovely family home. we have had a really relaxing week and the house layout was great for our son, his partner and their 7 month old son. Our black lab, Mac, thought the garden was just right. We had a lovely meal at the Dun Cow at Salthouse. Great food and friendly service. Thanks again.

We have had such a fantastic time here at Field Row. The cottage is absolutely stunning, homely, well-equipped and has a beautiful interior/exterior. As we were only here a short time we did a whistle-stop tour of local villages a coastal walk and a visit to the beach. We followed the 'welcome info' (from the blue folder) and found all recommended places very helpful. To add to the 'places to eat' we really liked Byfords in Holt, we had pasties and scones there and they were really delicious! Thank you for a fab home/stay.

We have really enjoyed our time at Field Row, the house is really beautiful and very well equipped for our stay with our three little ones. The boys (5,3) really enjoyed playing in the garden and all the toys and our 10 month old loved the swing! This is our fifth Norfolk holiday and we usually stay close to Aylsham so it was lovely to see a few different areas, we visited the Dinosaur Park and Bewilderwood but also Holkham which we had never been to before and loved! Wiverton Hall twice for the pizza nights - great to meet Desmond, saw Toby Jones there and soaked up the amazing views! We also visited our favourite spots in Wells and Cromer - hope to be back soon to try all the other beaches that we didn't get to this time. A beautiful house and some wonderful holiday memories made. Thank you so much.

An enjoyable holiday. We brought our two grandsons aged 4 and 5 and they loved it, especially the garden where they had so much freedom. The house is beautiful and a nice change from the city.

We have really enjoyed our stay in Field Row. It is a magical house and a very special area. We did lots of things recommended to us, and also loved Den building in Sheringham Park and swimming in the sea at Overstrand beach (2 miles further along the coast from Cromer). Sailing courses with Norfolk etc were excellent. Look forward to our next visit!

Fabulous accommodation in a great location. If you don't already love North Norfolk, you will after your stay here. This cottage gives you the feel good factor, the moment you walk into the main room and kitchen. The Aga might seem a bit excessive when you've experienced fabulous warm weather and those amazing blue skies but it just added to the cosiness. We would love to stay here again in summer or winter.
