Property details

The beautiful Field Row is the owners' much loved second home which has been converted from a row of three farm cottages into one stunning, spacious detached holiday retreat. Set in the pretty, peaceful village of Field Dalling, everything about this cottage has the 'wow' factor. Many original features have been retained, which seamlessly blend with contemporary fixtures and fittings, including an amazing galleried landing overlooking the living and kitchen/breakfast room, the focal point being the vast inglenook fireplace and double height vaulted ceiling.

From the moment you arrive at the property and set foot inside the traditional Norfolk cottage style entrance hall you cannot help but feel relaxed. A cosy beamed sitting room with oak flooring and cottage-style windows with shutters leads off the entrance hall. Stylishly decorated and furnished with comfy sofas set around a log burner with a fabulous surround, this is a wonderful room for chilling and chatting the night away.

All of the bedrooms have high vaulted ceilings. At one end of the cottage, an airy double bedroom with comfy armchair and funky mirror shares a large 'Jack and Jill' bathroom with a delightful twin bedroom (there is also a trundle available; ideal for children). The fabulous master bedroom, accessed via stairs from the open plan main living area, has a king size bed, built-in bedside storage and en suite bathroom and windows overlooking the gardens.

The open plan living area is the real 'hub' and a fantastic space for families and friends to enjoy spending time together. The cool contemporary furnishings mixed with the warmth from the beams and oak flooring is the perfect combination. All the windows have hand crafted shutters and overlook the patio and mature cottage gardens beyond. The bright hand-built kitchen has shaker style fitted units, a double Belfast sink, dishwasher, open plan shelving and Aga. There is a large farmhouse table with seating for up to ten people, ideal for family meals and a friends 'get together'. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with sink unit and washing facilities, and a cloakroom.

At the front of the cottage there are pretty cottage-style borders, climbing roses and lawn areas to enjoy, as well as a covered decked area. Just beyond there is a large enclosed lawn of approximately half an acre, with mature silver birch trees and a garden swing - an area perfect for ball games and space for children to run around and play.

Field Row is perfect for families and ideal for friends, but also a rather romantic spot for a couple or two, who are looking for a beautiful, peaceful location with lots of space to spread out, both indoors and out. The cottage is a great base from which to explore this wonderful part of North Norfolk, having easy access to both coastal and rural delights.

Guest reviews

We have had such a fantastic time here at Field Row. The cottage is absolutely stunning, homely, well-equipped and has a beautiful interior/exterior. As we were only here a short time we did a whistle-stop tour of local villages a coastal walk and a visit to the beach. We followed the 'welcome info' (from the blue folder) and found all recommended places very helpful. To add to the 'places to eat' we really liked Byfords in Holt, we had pasties and scones there and they were really delicious! Thank you for a fab home/stay.

We have really enjoyed our time at Field Row, the house is really beautiful and very well equipped for our stay with our three little ones. The boys (5,3) really enjoyed playing in the garden and all the toys and our 10 month old loved the swing! This is our fifth Norfolk holiday and we usually stay close to Aylsham so it was lovely to see a few different areas, we visited the Dinosaur Park and Bewilderwood but also Holkham which we had never been to before and loved! Wiverton Hall twice for the pizza nights - great to meet Desmond, saw Toby Jones there and soaked up the amazing views! We also visited our favourite spots in Wells and Cromer - hope to be back soon to try all the other beaches that we didn't get to this time. A beautiful house and some wonderful holiday memories made. Thank you so much.

An enjoyable holiday. We brought our two grandsons aged 4 and 5 and they loved it, especially the garden where they had so much freedom. The house is beautiful and a nice change from the city.

We have really enjoyed our stay in Field Row. It is a magical house and a very special area. We did lots of things recommended to us, and also loved Den building in Sheringham Park and swimming in the sea at Overstrand beach (2 miles further along the coast from Cromer). Sailing courses with Norfolk etc were excellent. Look forward to our next visit!

Fabulous accommodation in a great location. If you don't already love North Norfolk, you will after your stay here. This cottage gives you the feel good factor, the moment you walk into the main room and kitchen. The Aga might seem a bit excessive when you've experienced fabulous warm weather and those amazing blue skies but it just added to the cosiness. We would love to stay here again in summer or winter.
