Property details

A beautiful, spacious, light and characterful detached property with private annexe situated on a quiet lane in the coastal village of Brancaster. This lovely flint cottage is superbly located; close to the heart of the village with its much-loved pub and within easy walking distance of the sandy beach and Royal West Norfolk Golf Course.

The Little House is a delightfully deceptive property, offering laid-back relaxed accommodation for six guests over two floors in the main house, with the added luxury of an en-suite annexe for two further guests within its grounds, making it ideal for multi-generational families wanting a degree of privacy. With a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area and bi-fold doors opening up onto the pretty east-facing garden, there is plenty of space to relax inside and out. And with parking for two cars behind wrought iron gates, you can be sure that your little ones and four-legged friends are safe at all times too.

From The Little House you can enjoy some spectacular scenic countryside and coastal walks, making it perfect for a short break with friends and family or longer stay. Brancaster and the neighbouring village of Brancaster Staithe is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. With its big skies, wide sandy beaches, spectacular sunsets, salty sea air and wildlife, this is a beautiful part of the world. At the beach you’ll find plenty of facilities to buy refreshments, food and ice-creams or simply walk the coastal path or up to Barrow Common and you will be rewarded with breath-taking panoramic views across tidal marshes. If you're lucky and walk left along the village beach, you may also see the seals frolicking in the lagoon between Brancaster and Titchwell, which is also home to the RSPB nature reserve.

Surrounding local area

Brancaster boasts a fabulous gastro pub/restaurant, The Ship, which sits opposite the church at the crossroads. The White Horse in Brancaster Staithe makes the most of the local fishermen's catch and has fantastic views from its terrace towards Scolt Head Island and the marsh and sea beyond. The Jolly Sailor's pub also in Brancaster Staithe, serves good food all day and was recently voted best family pub in the UK. There are shops in the neighbouring village of Burnham Deepdale, only five minutes’ drive away and the Deepdale shopping complex includes a supermarket, petrol station, Fat Face clothing store, pottery, nature/binocular shop, gift shops and cafe. For freshest seafood, visit The Fish Shed and Fish Hut on the hard at Brancaster Staithe, where you can buy fresh fish, crab and lobster straight off the boat. If you have time then do pay a visit one of the many stately homes and houses in the area; HM The Queen’s Sandringham residence is a short drive away as is Houghton Hall and Holkham Hall with its beach, vast parkland and private stately home. Don’t forget to try your hand at crabbing (or ‘gillying’ as it is known locally) from the harbour wall at Wells-next-the-Sea which will provide hours of fun for adults and children alike. Visit Burnham Market if you are seeking some retail therapy and sample one of the many restaurants that helping to make this area such a foodie destination. Adventure seekers should visit Hunstanton where there is an opportunity to paddle board or kayak and children will adore the ‘Wash Monster’ which goes out daily to visit the seals.
