Surrounding local area

Brancaster Staithe, just a couple of minutes drive from Brancaster, bustles with sailors. Home to Brancaster Staithe Sailing Club, the harbour is a busy place. Fresh seafood and coffee can be had from the shed on the quay (in high season)or you can go up to The Jolly Sailors where children, muddy dogs and boots are welcomed. For more formal dining The White Horse provides a spectacular view of the marshes where you can enjoy the local seafood whilst watching the tide come in over the creeks. The Fish Shed gives you the opportunity to take home some great local produce. Kayaks and boats can be hired from Northshore Sport and Leisure. Brancaster Staithe is right on the Norfolk Coast Path. Fresh mussels can be bought on the quay direct from the fishermen, or try Mervyn in the village, he will have a sign out!

Another great week at this lovely cottage. This is our second visit. It is so convenient for coastal walks, beaches, bird watching etc. Have had some fabulous food at The Orange Tree Thornham, The Hero, The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors for their pizzas. The cottage is very well kept and has everything for a lovely holiday.

What a fabulous house. We loved the garden peace and quiet even the blackbird that visited everyday. We loved the boats and scenery and pubs. Also loved the bi folding doors and the sheer openess of the entire house, very relaxed and happy. Ten out of ten for the house, love the shower, fab home. Thank you owner for your lovely holiday home. Loved the different beaches. The best was Brancaster.

We have really enjoyed our stay here. It is very comfortable and perfect for 2 people. The position is ideal for us for the Nature Reserves. The weather hasn't been too bad and we have been able to sit and have a drink in the evenings out in the garden.

What a week! Absolutely fabulous weather, couldn't have ordered any better. Cottage lovely and comfortable. Enjoyed food at The Whitehorse and at the Briarfield Hotel. Both had a lovely holiday atmosphere. Good walking and birding close to hand. Lovely places to visit, Holt, Blakeney and Burnham Market.

Another lovely stay. Everything has been perfect and comfortable especially the stove in the evenings. Weather windy and some rain but we still managed to be out everyday, nature watching at Titchwell, Cley, Pensthorpe, Sculthorpe, Snettisham and Holkham. We hope to return!

We enjoyed a lovely break in North Norfolk. Knot cottage is a perfect base for all the coastline walks and beaches. Good food at The White Horse and fab pizza at the Jolly Sailors. Wildlife all around with hares and deer in the fields and birds at Titchwell RSPB. A small coffee table would be useful next to the sofa.

Another lovely stay at Knot Cottage - our forth! It really is our home from home. We walked the coastal path from Wells to Salthouse - the coase hopper is great and on time which meant we didn;t have to retrace our steps. The bird life hasn't disappointed us either! We hope to be back!

Knot Cottage is an ideal base for a short winter break to visit Deepdale Christmas and take a candlelight tour of Holkham Hall. The cottage is very warm and cosy.

Our third visit to Knot Cottage and the best yet! It was so nice to replax and un-wind over the festive break here with the fire keeping us warm and cosy. Plenty to do and see and eat in the area - we highly recommend Erics fish and chips (make sure you go hungry!). Lots of lovely walks, lots of tasty food made our Christmas time in North Norfolk perfect. Even the weather was on our side, despit a few heavy frosts. We cant wait to book and stay at Knot Cottage again. We would really appreciate a small coffee table by the sofa! Enjoy your time here!

My husband and I had a fabulous stay at Knot Cottage, we found the cottage to be perfect for the two of us, it was spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed for our two week stay. The location was lovely and very quiet and very well situated for all the good birding hotspots in north Norfolk. There are two nice pubs situated just a short walk away and we even went to a quiz night at the local village hall. Norfolk Hideaways were very pleasant and helpful to deal with in regards to our booking and key collection and drop off. We both highly recommend Knot Cottage!

The second time we have stayed at Knot Cottage, and still excellent. Position is great for the facilities and access to the harbour at Brancaster Staithe. The Cottage is tucked away down a private drive, so away from the main coast road, which gives a little more privacy and quiet. The cottage itself is perfect for 2/3 people - well equipped and clean. Modern clean lines and plenty of space for a small cottage. Good private garden too.

Knot Cottage is a cosy cottage in a great location. Ideal to walk to the local pub, The Jolly Sailors. The Norfolk coastal path is two minutes walk away. The cottage is in a great location to see many of the outstanding attractions in North & West Norfolk. It is set back from the road and is surprisingly quiet.

If you are looking for a quiet retreat then Knot Cottage is perfect. Small, stylish, comfortable and well equipped with a private garden. Two excellent but very different pubs less than 5 mins stroll away and a good base from which to explore the North Norfolk coast.

What a wonderful cottage, on arrival it was so welcoming , beautifully clean and fresh everything had been done to a very high standard, we had all we could possibly need . The location is perfect for eateries and the beach and supermarket but at the same time so peaceful and relaxing we certainly would not hesitate to stay there again.
