Guest reviews

An ideal property for two people in that you have space to spread, look at books and maps and plan future explorations without excessive tidying up each day. The amenities are generally kept to a high standard and changes are made on a regular basis to keep abreast of issues. Plenty of info regards the area is left in the property to enliven your stay and to encourage you to explore this wonderful coastline. The immediate area has excellent eating options for daytime and evening meals. Despite other visitors feeling they need access to the wifi, and this property doesn't have it, we found it a welcome relief to be OFF the radar for a week.

What a fantastic cottage, very cosy and clean. Our son slept on the mezzanine which is great for teens. great boat parking space also managed to park my small car behind.Bi-fold doors were great as it was over 30 degrees.
Great location for pubs, walks and the shops/ deli Only niggle no WiFi or enough outdoor chairs as the cottage can sleep potentially 4.(*Norfolk Hideaways advertises this property as sleeping 2*) Will definitely stay here again, especially if teens can sleep on the mezzanine.
Norfolk Hideaways is an excellent company to book through, nothing is too much trouble, will be booking through them for 2019 but a larger cottage.

The owner was waiting for us when we arrived (the blackbird), after a good feed he sang for us the rest of the day. The cottage is perfect and we enjoyed ourselves. Will book again soon hopefully.

It has been 10 years since we were last in Norfolk, but it certainly won't be that long till we come back again. So much to do in the area and the Coasthopper is a great way of getting around. Weather was perfect. We loved the cottage, and will definitely come back to it next time.

Lovely sunny long weekend in a lovely cottage. Quiet location off the main road with two pubs in the village, a small supermarket and coffee shop. Used the coastal hopper bus after a 10 mile walk up the beach and to visit Burnham Market - great service. We would revisit.

Thank you for another lovely few days at Knot Cottage. The sun was out for the whole weekend until the 'Beast from the East' arrived on Monday. Lots of walking and relaxing. A perfect way to celebrate my 50th birthday.

Short Break in North Norfolk. Knot Cottage makes an ideal base for exploring North Norfolk and is ideally suited for a couple. There is an excellent restaurant available only a short walk from the cottage and many more within a 10 minute drive. The only negative is the lack of good mobile signal and no wi-fi available in the cottage.

Andrew Newstead, February 2018

Lovely cottage great location. Knot Cottage is a cosy retreat for couples who want a comfortable break in a lovely part of Norfolk. The cottage is well equipped and very comfortable. The log burner enhances the electric heating and ensures that the lounge area is lovely and warm even in the coldest weather. The small seating area on the upper level is perfect for a quiet cup of coffee, reading or just listening to music from the CD player. Located just off the main road, the cottage is quiet and private. Restaurants, from 'pub-grub! to more 'up market' establishments are just a short walk or drive away. And of course the glory of North Norfolk with its walks, wildlife and beaches is right there on the doorstep.

Our annual visit to Knot Cottage! This was our third stay at Knot Cottage (and fourth to the area, each time around the beginning of January), and as good as the first. Knot is perfectly placed to enjoy the north Norfolk coast: a short walk to the harbour or marshes, and an easy walk to nearby Brancaster beach or Burnham Overy Staithe. RSPB Titchwell, Holkham and Wells close by. Two great pubs and the local supermarket all in easy reach on foot. The cottage has everything you could ever need (OK, no wi-fi but a good 4G signal so not a problem) and is very clean and comfortable. The wood burning stove is great on a cold winter's evening. We'll be back again.

We lasted visited Knot Cottage in March, but decided to try the summer months. We had a lovely weekend. We walked the Costal path to Hunstanton one day and the other walked the coastal path in the other direction to Stiffkey. We had another amazing meal at the white Horse and managed to forage some samphire from the marshes to take home. It was lovely to swap the log fire for sitting outside. Thank you, another fantastic stay.

Another great week at this lovely cottage. This is our second visit. It is so convenient for coastal walks, beaches, bird watching etc. Have had some fabulous food at The Orange Tree Thornham, The Hero, The White Horse and The Jolly Sailors for their pizzas. The cottage is very well kept and has everything for a lovely holiday.

We have really enjoyed our stay here. It is very comfortable and perfect for 2 people. The position is ideal for us for the Nature Reserves. The weather hasn't been too bad and we have been able to sit and have a drink in the evenings out in the garden.

We enjoyed a lovely break in North Norfolk. Knot cottage is a perfect base for all the coastline walks and beaches. Good food at The White Horse and fab pizza at the Jolly Sailors. Wildlife all around with hares and deer in the fields and birds at Titchwell RSPB. A small coffee table would be useful next to the sofa.

Another lovely stay at Knot Cottage - our forth! It really is our home from home. We walked the coastal path from Wells to Salthouse - the coase hopper is great and on time which meant we didn;t have to retrace our steps. The bird life hasn't disappointed us either! We hope to be back!

Our third visit to Knot Cottage and the best yet! It was so nice to replax and un-wind over the festive break here with the fire keeping us warm and cosy. Plenty to do and see and eat in the area - we highly recommend Erics fish and chips (make sure you go hungry!). Lots of lovely walks, lots of tasty food made our Christmas time in North Norfolk perfect. Even the weather was on our side, despit a few heavy frosts. We cant wait to book and stay at Knot Cottage again. We would really appreciate a small coffee table by the sofa! Enjoy your time here!

My husband and I had a fabulous stay at Knot Cottage, we found the cottage to be perfect for the two of us, it was spotlessly clean and contained everything we needed for our two week stay. The location was lovely and very quiet and very well situated for all the good birding hotspots in north Norfolk. There are two nice pubs situated just a short walk away and we even went to a quiz night at the local village hall. Norfolk Hideaways were very pleasant and helpful to deal with in regards to our booking and key collection and drop off. We both highly recommend Knot Cottage!

The second time we have stayed at Knot Cottage, and still excellent. Position is great for the facilities and access to the harbour at Brancaster Staithe. The Cottage is tucked away down a private drive, so away from the main coast road, which gives a little more privacy and quiet. The cottage itself is perfect for 2/3 people - well equipped and clean. Modern clean lines and plenty of space for a small cottage. Good private garden too.

Davies Family, August 2016

Knot Cottage is a cosy cottage in a great location. Ideal to walk to the local pub, The Jolly Sailors. The Norfolk coastal path is two minutes walk away. The cottage is in a great location to see many of the outstanding attractions in North & West Norfolk. It is set back from the road and is surprisingly quiet.
