Have a stroll down Holkham Beach
Without doubt one of the most unspoilt, stunning stretches of sand in the UK, Holkham is simply jaw-dropping. (This isn't the first time we've raved about the beach, and it won't be the last). It was used in Shakespeare in Love, UK travel writers recently voted Holkham the best beach in the UK: enough said, really!
Take in Walsingham Abbey
The gardens and ground surrounding the Abbey is wonderfully tranquil, playing host to some stunning horticulture as well as the ruins of the old priory. Such is its stature that Walsingham was, for many years, a place of pilgrimage. Featuring 18 miles of stunning woodland, the grounds are incredibly romantic, a must for those that love to spend time outdoors.
Blickling is a breath-taking mansion sitting at the heart of a stunning garden and historic park. The garden has changed very little over the past century and with good reason: it's one of the finest gardens in the UK! There are a lot of options for walking and cycling and, of course, there's the chance to see the house itself. In terms of romance, few things beat the chance to sit by the Blickling Lake in the summer sunshine.
Of course, these are by no means the only romantic things to do in the North Norfolk area. The Queen's royal estate at Sandringham is – like Blickling – a wonderful location for an afternoon walk. Sheringham Park offers stunning coastal views across acres of beautiful countryside.
The Norfolk coast is decorated with restaurants and gastropubs, all of which are ideal for a romantic meal and a few drinks. Some of our favourites include the Orange Tree at Thornham, The Hoste at Burnham Market and the Wiveton Bell at Wiveton.

North Norfolk is a wonderful destination if you're planning on spending your honeymoon in the UK. Containing a number of the UK's most tranquil, idyllic destinations and a lot of fun things to do, you're onto a winner here. Here are some of our favourite romantic areas:
This is definitely not the last time you'll see us recommend Holkham. Recently voted the best beach in the UK by a selection of travel writers, it's simply one of the most beautiful, unspoilt stretches of sand in the UK. We can't think of a more romantic place in which to enjoy an evening stroll on a summer's evening.
Once you've enjoyed the sand, why not spend an evening by the lakes? Blickling Park is another favourite of ours. The red-brick mansion is stunning, of course, but our real love is for the gardens and the historic park that borders the house. Enjoy an evening drink before taking a walk in the truly beautiful Bure meadows, then sit and relax by the lakes before returning to your cottage – bliss!
In North Norfolk, there are a range of fine dining restaurants that are perfect for a romantic evening meal, as well as a number of gastropubs spread across the coast. Of course, if you're really in the mood for spoiling yourself, our cottages also have the option of a private chef visiting and cooking your meals for the duration of your stay!
North Norfolk Railway
Is there anything more steeped in romanticism than a steam train? The North Norfolk Railway is a magical way to spend an afternoon. Sit back and take in the beautiful scenery whilst hopping between the different stops and spending time in the quintessential towns of Sheringham, Holt, Weybourne and Kelling Heath Park, as well as many others.
These might be our favourites, remember, but there so many romantic activities just perfect for honeymooners in North Norfolk. If you're looking for somewhere to stay, meanwhile, give Norfolk Hideaways a call: we've got a range of cottages just perfect for the most romantic holiday of your life.
