A very special, unique modern turreted house that's tucked between two period properties and overlooks The Buttlands; the leafy green square in the centre of Wells. Castle House is a real gem - comfortable and stylish accommodation for six, parking for two cars, a private enclosed garden - all right on the doorstep of this popular seaside town.

Looking at the house from The Buttlands, it appears rather dwarfed by its neighbours and could give the impression of being on the small side but, don't be deceived, this house is a Tardis! Once you are through the front door and walk into the open plan kitchen/diner with its elegant comfy sofa and chairs, you immediately feel welcome and at home, and soon begin to realise there is a lot more to Castle House than at first appears. Built in 2007, furnished and decorated throughout in a fresh, contemporary style, there is a light and airy feel to all the rooms and the glazed canopy roof above the hallway and upstairs landing is a striking feature that floods the inner areas with light. The sitting room is at the back of the house and has bi-folding doors that open onto the paved patio area and good sized, private walled garden beyond. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The extra special master bedroom with super king bed and en suite shower room has two french doors leading onto a small roof terrace with views of The Buttlands, and both the twin room and bunk bedroom have adult size beds. There a house bathroom as well as downstairs cloakroom, and the utility with sink is perfect for cleaning sandy boots or paws after a day on the beach! Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Castle House will appeal to all kinds of holiday makers throughout the year. It is a perfect spot for families, couples and friends who are looking for a fabulous place to stay and enjoy a variety of activities. Walk out the door and you are in the heart of Wells, where everything you need to make your holiday complete is just a short walk away - great gastro pubs, cafes, shops, the famous quay where you can partake in 'crabbing' and enjoy some of the best fish and chips around. From the quay you can join the North Norfolk Coastal Path and take a leisurely stroll to Wells beach with its wonderful array of colourful beach huts, stopping at the Beach Cafe on the way. If you want to explore further afield and leave the car behind, the Coasthopper bus stops at the end of The Buttlands, and will take you to all the coastal villages from Cromer to Hunstanton.

There is a comfortable seating area with sofa and armchair if you want to watch TV while supper is prepared! A lovely light room featuring bi-folding doors that run the full length of one wall, and lead into the enclosed garden - perfect for bringing the outside in on warm sunny days and evenings. There is ample comfortable seating for relaxing, chatting, reading or enjoying the wall mounted wide screen TV with Freeview.

First Floor

Master Bedroom with En Suite
An extra special feature of this lovely room is the two sets of french windows which lead out onto a small roof terrace and overlook The Buttlands. A super king bed, chest of drawers, fitted wardrobe and wall mounted TV.

Ensuite Shower Room
A large walk-in glazed shower cubicle, heated towel rail, washbasin and wc. A velux window provides light and ventilation.

Twin Bedroom
Full-size single beds and built-in wardrobe.

To the rear of the house is a good sized garden, mostly laid to lawn, and enclosed by brick walls and fencing. Please note that the two plant houses in the garden are not available for guest use. At the front of the house is off road parking for two cars.

Wells-next-the-sea is a charming, traditional seaside town with sandy beaches protected by a pinewood forest. A visit to Wells wouldn't be complete without trying your luck at a spot of crabbing on the quayside, or simply relaxing and watching the world go by whilst sampling the best in local fish and chip cuisine. Bicycle hire is available on the quay side. Great local pubs include The Crown Inn, The Globe in Wells and The Victoria at Holkham is close by.

Wonderful location. Castle House lived up to its description.We spent a very comfortable week ,it was a shame the weather was so poor. The bed is super comfortable .Wi Fi and TV both of a good standard. Second time staying in Castle House this year. Great weather meant that, we could fully enjoy the large back garden. Lounge has sliding bi-fold doors which open up onto the patio making this a great space.
The house is perfectly situated between the Crown hotel and Globe Inn and has 2 car off street parking. The property has one large en-suite double with 2 smaller bedrooms. Property is ideal for up to 4 adults and 2 younger children and a dog or 2.
There is a very well appointed and stocked kitchen diner area to the front of the house with further nice sized bathroom and downstairs cloakroom. Will always look for this property when travelling to Wells.

A great week spent at Castle House - My wife and I found Castle House most welcoming and comfortable. It offers a surprising amount of space, both inside and in its lawned garden. The 'tardis' description is apt: the architects who designed the house are to be congratulated. The two parking spaces were essential. The aspect overlooking a Georgian garden square was delightful. The very close proximity of shops and restaurants, including the excellent, very dog-friendly Crown Hotel, is an enormous asset, as is the easy access to the superb beaches and Wells and Holkham. The house heating kept us warm, though the front door could benefit from a curtain or more effective draught extraction: elsewhere the double glazing worked a treat. Wi-fi reception was adequate. Reception on the main TV was good (not HD) and was adequate on the TVs in the kitchen and master bedroom. We used the en suite shower room and the downstairs loo only: they were fine with plenty of hot water when needed. The kitchen worked well for the two of us. We had no need to call upon the services of Norfolk Hideaways during our stay: guidebooks and instructions kept in the house met our needs. The service we received from Norfolk Hideaways when arranging the booking was excellent.

Lovely house situated in a really nice part of Wells. Convenient for all amenities. A big bonus was having your own parking space and the decent sized garden was great for our Irish Terrier and our 3 year old grandson.
We felt very comfortable in the house itself as there was plenty of room. The main bedroom was a good size and the large bed very comfortable with good bed linen. Would definitely stay there again.

A tardis in a great location felt even more spacious because it was flooded with natural light. The large back garden was a real surprise and sun trap. We ate breakfast in the garden most mornings. and what a bonus we could comfortably park three cars in front of the house. Would definitely return.
