Surrounding local area

Burnham Market is often referred to as North Norfolk’s loveliest village and is located just a few minutes from the coast in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Undoubtedly for many, Burnham Market is the jewel in North Norfolk’s crown; a stunning Georgian village with a various greens, which are surrounded by 18th century houses, a plethora of shops, trendy boutiques, café’s, restaurants, deli’s and of course The Hoste, still one of the best known and most popular places to eat and drink in North Norfolk. Make sure you also pay a visit to 20 North Street, Twenty9 and The Lord Nelson pub/restaurant which serves good food and ales all day. There is also a chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop located at the garage on the edge of the village and closeby you will also find the village supermarket. Burnham Market is unique in that it still boasts plenty of independent shops, including a fishmonger’s, butchers, greengrocers and a good wine merchant plus there are two good bookshops. Just a short drive to the sailing harbours at Brancaster Staithe and Burnham Overy Staithe and the Royal West Norfolk Golf Course at Brancaster it is no wonder Burnham Market is popular all year round. Don't forget to visit nearby Burnham Thorpe, the birthplace of Admiral Lord Nelson. Make sure you visit the beaches at Brancaster, Holkham and Wells-next-the-Sea which are all within a 10 minute drive away and the RSPB Bird Reserve at Titchwell.

Guest reviews

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very nice comfortable bungalow, the excellent location gives great access to all local amenities and surrounding areas, would also recommend The Nelson, a two minute walk - the food was very good. Thank you, we'll visit again!

A last minute search for an Autumn break in North Norfolk enabled us to be the first people to stay at Dolphin cottage which had just had a complete refurbishment. We fully appreciated walking into a property that had just had a total upgrade.

The property is in a quiet culdesack with parking at the edge of Burnham Market and only 5 minutes walk from Burnham's vibrant centre.

What a delight to enter this refurbished bungalow in one of our favourite spots in Norfolk. We were able to relax and enjoy all our usual places. Holkham Beach, Brancaster and Holme - taking the path to the Norfolk Wildlife Centre for coffee. For those guests who haven't visited the area, The Lodge at Old Hunstanton, The Ship at Brancaster and The White Horse Brancaster Staithe are all dog friendly and excellent, as are many more. Congratulations Jules and Guy, we hope further guests will appreciate The Dolphin as we have.
