Little Star holiday cottage location

Surrounding local area

Ringstead is an unspoilt village just a few miles in from the North Norfolk Coast. Whether you want an active, adventure packed holiday, or just a peaceful retreat, this is the perfect place to be.

The village boasts the renowned Gin Trap Inn, a traditional 17th Century Coaching Inn with good food, a great selection of beers, wines and welcoming staff. It also stocks more than 100 gins for you to try! In the winter it is cosy with roaring log fires and in the summer there is lovely decked garden to the rear to enjoy the sun's rays.

The village general store is certainly unique. Not only does it stock everything from newspapers and local produce to logs and cleaning products, it has a labyrinth of rooms for you to explore, where you will find an eclectic collection of old and new items for sale. There is also an excellent garden centre in the village too.

The Peddars Way passes through the village on its way to join the Coastal Path, so there is good walking to be had here and on the Ringstead Downs. The village is on the National Cycle Network and is part of the Norfolk Coast Cycleway. The beach sandy beach, pubs, restaurants and Links Golf Course at Old Hunstanton is just two miles away which is in walking distance or easy cycling distance of Little Star.

Guest reviews

Such a lovely stay in this beautiful cottage -perfect for our first family holiday with our 10 week old little boy. A perfect location for exploring Norfolk, and having time snuggled up next to the fire. We especially enjoyed cake from Thornham Deli - well worth a visit. We will definitely be back to this gorgeous place!

We have had a lovely time in this beautiful cottage. Very cosy after some blustery walks on the beach. Recommend the Beach Cafe and the Golden Fleece in Wells and the Rose and Crown in Snettisham for food, all excellent and very dog friendly. Sadly The Gin Trap was closed for refurbishment (but gives us an excuse to return!)

Wish we had been here for longer. Beautiful cottage, fabulous places to eat and the best beach walks. Little Star is a perfect base to explore from, but at this time of year it is an even better place to return to! Thank you.

Little Star is a beautiful holiday cottage - fabulous cottage - very tastefully decorated and comfortable, with everything anyone could want provided, though the stairs aren’t for the physically challenged or faint hearted. Very well located at the edge of the village, easy walking distance to the pub and shop, and a short drive to the nearest beach. A perfect place for a couple to stay with their dog and explore the North Norfolk coast and villages.

This was a great little cottage to stay in with a local pub/restaurant and store in the village. Plenty of walking all around the area. A few miles either side of the village are other little villages with great pubs too. A mile from the beaches and the North Norfolk coast.
An ideal location to stay in. Little Star lived up to its name a quaint cottage with all everything you would need for your stay. Car
parking was a plus too. Would definitely choose this cottage again when staying in North Norfolk

Little Star is a homely and comfortable cottage, in a delightful and well located village being 5 minutes drive to Hunstanton. For those with dogs, Old Hunstanton beach provides perfect walking terrain and the dog friendly beaches at Brancaster and Holkham are also highly recommended. The village has an amazing dog friendly pub (The Gin Trap Inn) - great menu and friendly staff with the bonus of an extensive gin list - just as well Little Star is just round the corner!!
